Lil Wayne ‘Tha Carter IV’ Pushed Back until June

With all the built up anticipation surrounding the release of the fourth installment to Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter series, it seems as though fans will be waiting just a bit longer. Sometime over the weekend, it was concluded, not confirmed whether by Cash Money or Universal, to push the release of the album until June.

So, in essence, the first celebrated date of May 16 has been officially thrown out the window and been pushed back until an unannounced release date sometime in June and again leaving the fans bewildered. The reason for the push back has yet to be announced or even discussed; however, this push back has been circulating for the past weekend causing a huge sir amongst all Hip-Hop media outlets across the net. The tentative tracklisting was recently leaked, but according to sources this had nothing to do with the push back or the change in release date, some even doubt that the initial tracklisting that was leaked is even the official list.

Lil Wayne states that the material on the album was a project that they started in 2008 and continued to push forward, as of now he admits that the album is officially done. During an interview with with RapFix Live with Sway on MTV that we reported, Wayne stated that the album was complete he was just waiting on his manager Cortez Bryant to secure an official release date with Universal. That first release date was given to them in the date of May 16.

At press time, Wayne is still on tour with Rick Ross, his protégé Nicki Minaj, and celebrity drummer Travis Barker on his celebrated sequel to the ‘I Am Music’ tour and will continue to do so until May 1st.

Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for more updated news on the release of ‘Tha Carter IV’ as it is still in the developing stages.

Interestingly enough, I still doubt that ‘Tha Carter IV’ will see the light of day so soon. I believe that they will continue to string the fans along to keep their anticipation high, but not release it until the opportune time. Wayne has a certain pattern to his released music and he has at least three or four mixtapes to release before the initial drop of the highly anticipated studio album. And then of course there’s the ‘unexpected’ leak that will obviously occur in due time.

You can definitely expect a plethora of material coming out of the Poe Boy vault. Brisco has plenty of music in his arsenal just ready to be released to his fans. The first ‘O.G. Kush,’ in my opinion, definitely had a lot bangers, I’m looking forward to see what Bris has up his sleeves this time around. Honestly, from the sound of the single, I am expecting some good music, whether for smoking or not, I know he’s going to go in on it.
