Young Jeezy’s Upcoming Album TM103 Changes with the Times

Atlanta, GA – The long-awaited TM103 by Young Jeezy is apparently receiving much media attention as the release date continues to draw close. This album has been in the works for the past of couple years to the point where fans were actually wondering if the album will ever see the light of day. With 2011 reaching its Summer solstice, the release is now just around the corner.

Well, with the years in prospective and with the changing times with the economy and the U.S., Jeezy’s music is also reflecting that of the current events. We’ve all known Jeezy to very openly spoken when it comes to situations within the government and the economy; it was quite evident in 2008’s ‘The Recession’ when Jeezy single-handedly predicted our first Black President months in advanced.

Going down memory lane, Jeezy’s Thug Motivation series has had an interesting history going back to the first album. If you recall, 6 years ago it all started with the release of his 2005 debut album, ‘Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101,’ the release of that album officially dubbed Jeezy the voice of the streets. When 2006 came around, the A-Town emcee dropped ‘The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102,’ making it the first sequel to his TM series. Two years later, instead of continuing with the third installment to the series, Jeezy had a message for the U.S. government and his fans when he dropped his third LP as ‘The Recession.’ Now moving forward on and continuing with his TM series, the third installment comes just in time for a 2011 summer release.

Jeezy recently spoke with MTV News about the upcoming TM103 album backstage at the second ‘Thug Motivation 101’ six-year anniversary concert in his hometown of Atlanta. He finally shed light on what material he has included reflection on the nation falling on hard times.

These were his comments:

“TM 101 dropped at a time when money was so plentiful that you could've had too much of it at some point, and everybody was happy. Everybody was flamboyant, everybody was living, and nowadays it ain't like that. So when I dropped TM 101, my whole focus was, we're gonna get this money and that's what it's about. We're gonna get this money, we're gonna live life, we're gonna have fun.”

It is quite obvious of the times that the economy has been facing as of late, Jeezy is addressing it on those levels and leaving the old topics in the past:

“The evolution of that, 103 is more sort of like situations, like, OK, yeah we got to the money, we lost it two or three times, but what are we gonna do to maintain?" Jizzle asked before rattling off a few more hypothetical questions. "Are we gonna maintain? Are we gonna get back? Are we gonna stay focused on the get back, or we gonna get off track? Are we gonna pay attention to what they're talkin' about, or pay attention to what we need to do? That's what the evolution is about.”

Jeezy then added:

"It's about knowing what to do. When I was growin' up and I was listening to 'Pac, all his situations apply to me today. I never knew that, I was just listening to the music and I thought it was good music," Jeezy said. "Everything that he said applies to me today. Keep ya enemies close, money over bitches — that's real talk.”

Jeezy has never been the one to hold his tongue, I’m quite curious to hear what he has to say now on this highly-anticipated album.

Drake Discusses Recruiting Stevie Wonder for ‘Take Care’

Toronto, CA – Even though Drake’s sophomore LP won’t be out until October, news of the album is still making headlines even now. The Toronto emcee has already confirmed many heavyweight artists as features to the upcoming LP, he has even recently released his first official single as of today (August 1) entitled ‘Headlines.’ Apparently, the latest news is that he has recruited Motown Legend, Stevie Wonder to assist him with certain songs and possibly a feature.

Drake recently spoke with MuchMusic about the legendary feature during this weekend's OVO Music Festival in his hometown of Toronto, Canada.

These were his comments:

“Stevie Wonder is a very close friend of mine. I’m honored to call him a friend, someone who embraced me very early in this music business. This is an exclusive right here, because it’s MuchMusic, and we’re Canadian: Stevie Wonder is actually on ‘Take Care.’ He helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience.”

Within the interview, Drake described Wonder as a "very close friend" who has embraced him early in his career. And the legendary singer was more than happy to join Drake onstage in Toronto during the festival.

“So I hit him, asked him to come by, and with no hesitation he hit me back like, 'I will be there.' Not only that, but he was supposed to do two songs and he did like six," Drake told the Canadian television network. "It was incredible.”

At press time, ‘Take Care’ has officially been scheduled to drop on October 24, tentatively his 25th birthday.

I’m looking forward to hearing what this album has in store, after last year’s ‘Thank Me Later,’ hopefully this one doesn’t bore me as he has the same delivery and flow on every track. His new single ‘Headlines’ sounds quite interesting, hopefully he keeps to the same pace.
