Suspect in Philant Johnson Murder Case Convicted
Cincinnati, OH – Sometime last week Atlanta native T.I. provided his witness testimony in the trial of the murder of his best friend and associate Philant Johnson in a Cincinnati Courthouse. News has circulated across the media that murder suspect Hosea Thomas was convicted on all 11 counts that he was charged with in the 2006 shooting.
On Wednesday (November 26), the jury convicted Hosea Thomas on all counts and the interesting part was that it was a steadfast speedy trial in which it took them only a day to issue the guilty verdict. With the assistance of Thomas’ brother, Padron, the jury was convinced enough to give Thomas a guilty verdict. His testimony assisted the prosecutors as they were able to gather the whole story for the conviction. In return for Padron, who was driving the car at the time of the shooting, received a lesser sentence. Regardless of the fact that Thomas’ attorney, Charles Isaly, asked the jury to further analyze the witnesses’ testimony only because they had to understand, most of those witnesses received lesser sentences along with Padron.
In Isaly’s defense tactics against Padron’s testimony, he bought in a surprise witness to testify on counter measures. Kim Sweeten came forth to provide her alibi that she was Hosea Thomas’ girlfriend and at the time of the shooting, he was with her at her house that night. Prosecutors countered her statement by bringing forth an audio statement that Thomas’ gave to the police at the time of the arrest. The audio statement failed to mention that he accompanied her home that night.
Authorities had further confirmed that the Thomas brothers and an additional passenger were driving in a Grand Jeep Cherokee. That additional passenger, a one Mose Patrick Brown came forth to testify against Thomas stating that he was in the backseat of the Jeep at the time of the shooting and pointed to Thomas as the shooter. He continued to state that the Padron and Hosea offered him $800 to keep diclosed information to himself. Brown’s guilt and remorse brought him into testify stating that he was on the verge of suicide.
At press time, convicted murderer, Hosea Thomas, is facing a minimum of 20 years in prison. He will be sentenced on December 23.
I’m quite sure T.I. is content with the way things came about. This is a chapter in his life he can probably close now, seeing the murderer of his best friend brought to justice.
Lil Wayne Impressed with Kanye West’s Work Ethic and Style
Not too long ago the acclaimed ‘Best Rapper Alive’ released an album that became a masterpiece, a bestseller, and achieved a sales record all in a week’s time. You would think that someone of his caliber would relax and go on a brief hiatus after going platinum; well that wasn’t the case for Lil Wayne. As a matter of fact, he has been in the studio just like ‘Tha Carter III’ never happened. He has just recently dropped two mixtapes and probably featured on over a hundred songs with different people to no avail.
Chi-town nativeKanye West just recently released ‘808s & Heartbreak’ and caused continuous buzz about the album from the auto-tune to the interesting lyrics it possesses. West, this time around, made sure that he included the best rapper alive on one the tracks that was perfect for Wayne to grace. Weezy recently told MTV News about his experience working with the Louis Vuitton Don and he quickly omitted that no one in the game that’s releasing material is impressing him the way that Ye inspired to push forward.
These were the comments Wayne told MTV News, when asked about West:
“I’m on there. I already did a song on there. ‘Ye is an innovator, so it’s always a pleasure to be around someone so creative, because it drives you to be more or just as.”
At press time, we await the soundscan results of ‘808s & Heartbreak’ to see how many units he sold and at the same, like I wrote last week, did he outsell Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Chinese Democracy’ and Ludacris’ ‘Theater of the Mind.’ Check Wayne out on the Kanye West track ‘See You in my Nightmares,’ the track itself is amazing all on its own.
On the real, Wayne and Kanye make a good collaboration set. The song is quite impressive from the lyrics to the concept. When it comes down to the sales results, that’s really hard to say, how can you predict anything short of victory?
Ex-Danity Kane Aubrey O’Day Poses for Playboy?
It what has been major news in the media as of late, there has been some wide speculation that ex Danity Kane member, Aubrey O’Day, has apparently provided a centerfold for one of the nation’s oldest and leading magazine, the Playboy. However, even before that, she provided a separate photoshoot for the real interesting Complex magazine cover and layout, the material that probably cost her the final spot on Danity Kane.
According toTMZ.com, O’Day was in a Manhattan photo studio with celebrity photographer Markus Klinko. It was reported that she provided a spread for the magazine in which included several lion cubs.
Remaining Danity Kane members Shannon Bex and Dawn Richard both had interviews concerning the situation with O’Day, Bex kept the peace, while Richard added her two cents about the whole situation with Complex magazine. This is what she told usmagazine.com
“We had just did a signing with Dollhouse Teen, which is for 13-, 14-year-old young girls, so, we can’t do that one day and then the next day do an obnoxious cover. … [Diddy] wants the fans, and he says he can’t do that if we continue to go in the direction that we were going.”
At press time, Playboy has yet to confirm the speculation nor has any of O’Day representatives say otherwise. Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for more updated news as it arrives to our desk.
Normally, I don’t post rumors in the ‘On the Clock Report,’ but you must admit this was quite interesting noteworthy news, I bet Diddy is going to have a mass media field day frenzy with this situation. I guess Playboy has no problem getting their hands on anybody, who’ll be next Ciara? That’ll definitely be a spectacle.
