Kanye West Blogs Furiously about Second Arrest

The Chi-Town native, Kanye West, got into another minor scuffle with paparazzi which landed him in jail again, however, the second time without any pending charges. This one occurred early Friday morning (November 14) outside a nightclub called the Tup Tup in Newcastle, England. The next day, West was reluctant to respond on his blog as he normally does about the situation and how it went down, he also omitted comments about how there should be a law preventing paparazzi from taking pictures without consent. At the same time, he also mentioned the events that occurred that tragic night with Princess Diana and the paparazzi that led to her demise.

This was his response on his blog which he written in Caps insinuating his anger.

“I put my hand up to the camera in self-defense! Here’s what happened. … When I left the club, I was encountered by a thirsty paparazzi as usual. He felt he had more rights to my space than me, so I put my hand up to prevent him from taking my image. I didn’t assault him but merely putting my hand up to cover his lens. My security yelled, ‘Get the camera off him.’ I guess in all the commotion the camera scraped his nose.”

Three hours after the incident took place; the English authorities arrived at his hotel and placed him into custody after the photographer filed a complaint.

“The cops were very cordial but told me they had to arrest me because a complaint was filed. They spoke about how this was obviously a publicity stunt by the photographer but they still had to go through the motions. Even though I wasn’t charged, the damage was done. Sure enough, the next morning, plastered across every media outlet, ‘Kanye Gets Arrested.’ It didn’t matter that I wasn’t charged or the fact that I hadn’t assaulted anyone. All that mattered was that I was arrested.”

Sidebar, they quoted me as saying, ‘Get the camera off him!’ like I was talking in third person, he tried to make me sound like a crazy person, and people believed him. What merit does this guy have, that he can say something about me and people take it as law? The fact that he could get me arrested off a mere complaint but I can’t ask him to stop taking pictures of me is very lopsided.”

West reiterates the tragic events that involved Princess Diana. He continues to state that there should be law implemented preventing paparazzi from going about as they please.

“Let us not forget the paps killed Princess Diana. When will there be a law passed that simply enforces that someone has to ask to take a photograph of you? That would seem like common courtesy. Right now the paps are above the law and the people they shoot are below it. … The exploitation of my image is the problem. It produces a ‘by any means necessary’ behavior that cause the paps to drive recklessly on freeways, jump over fences and invade privacy all in an effort to get that ‘money shot.'”

“You shouldn’t be able to sell a picture of me without my permission. The personal problem I have with the paps is when they try to catch you being a regular person. I am not a celebrity. I’m a normal person that’s just famous. I refuse to sneak in and out of back doors and kitchens of hotels, etc. I am protecting my personal space since there are no laws to protect that for me.”

At press time West was not charged on both accounts when colliding with paparazzi, however the account that occurred in September, he was held accountable and court ordered to pay for the damages in camera equipment. His latest studio LP ‘808s & Heartbreak’ will be released on November 24 at the same time his label mate, Ludacris, will be releasing his ‘Theater of the Mind,’ which he, fans, and spectators are saying is ‘his best album to date.’

Ye makes a valid point about paparazzi and how they should implement a law, and I’m saying this as a field journalist. The situation with Princess Diana got out of hand and shouldn’t have even gotten that far in the first place. At the same time, whether or not West believes he’s a celebrity or not, he is still an excellent target for such. I’ll have a review for his ‘808s & Heartbreak’ within the week, be on the lookout for that.

Before I Self Destruct Pushed Back to 2009

Hov’s ‘The Blueprint 3’ will not be seeing the day of light anytime this year, Jay mentions that he isn’t in such a hurry to release the album anytime soon, as a matter of fact there has been confirmation that both the label and Jay are looking for a 1st quarter 2009 release. Another heavyweight artist is in the same situation with his anticipated album being pushed further into 2009. It seems as if 50 fans are going to have to wait until sometime early next year for ‘Before I Self Destruct’ to hit the shelves. Interscope has confirmed its delay of release, but has yet to secure an official release date. They are looking for an early 09 date.

50 recently spoke to MTV News about his latest album and what he plans to implement into it. However, he hasn’t responded to the delay of his album as of yet.

“I said, ‘Let me see what [Dre did]. Last time I recorded The Massacre album, I was in Orlando [Florida]. I went in the computer there. That’s how I found ‘I’m Supposed to Die Tonight.’ It’s interesting. With ‘In Da Club,’ D12 [who the beat was intended for], had the production started my career. We created some music,” he said of Slim Shady. “I went to Detroit recently. One song I really liked it and he liked it and he kept it for his album. I went back and made two more songs. We got ‘Norman Bates Motel’ out of that. It’s exciting.”

As soon as Interscope announces a release date we will be sure to keep you posted.

I guess 50 won’t be amongst the other heavyweights in boosting about an album anything this year. It seems like Def Jam is all for the 4th quarter releases but its probable Interscope doesn’t want to mingle with them. Either way, the fans have ‘Theater of the Mind,’ ‘808s & Heartbreak,’ as well as ‘Gutta’ to indulge in until Interscope decides to release their best seller’s album.

Beyonce Discusses Marriage at a More Mature Age

The reigning queen of R&B recently spoke to Seventeen magazine about how she didn’t want to be married at a young age the first time she met Jay-Z. In Seventeen’s December/January issue, she discusses her first encounter with Hov and what decisions she made before they tied the knot.

“I was 18 when we first met, 19 when we first started dating. I really don’t believe that you will love the same thing when you’re 20 as you do at 30. So that was my rule: Before the age of 25, I would never get married.”

Before their marriage in April, Beyonce stated that she had to get to know herself before even making the final commitment. She omits that Jay has always given her the best advice when it came down to any decisions in life and the music business. She continues that Jay has been there for her and supported her to through all her career choices and mishaps.

“I don’t care if you’re picture-perfect on every magazine cover, and you’re the most handsome, successful, coolest guy — you still get sad, and you still get your feelings hurt, and you still get confused and vulnerable and nervous and scared. You have to find a person you can make it through the tough times with.”

Beyonce continues to discuss that she takes criticism as a method of changing herself for the better as sometimes she even comments on herself.

I don’t try to compete with other people. I just try to better myself. I go and watch everything that I’ve done. I have my YouTube days, when I watch every performance, and I listen to my music, and I watch my videos to figure out what I need to do, what I need to fix and how to become a better singer.”

At press time, this issue of Seventeen magazine hits newsstands on November 18, while Beyonce’s latest studio LP ‘I Am…..Sasha Fierce’ drops the same day.

If this states that Beyonce has grown to a more mature woman, then her music should reflect that as well. This whole new ego thing with Sasha Fierce is actually quite interesting, let’s see what she has to offer this time around.
