Nick Cannon Discusses Non-Feud with Eminem

New York, NY – Even before the arrival of Eminem’s new album, a leaked track entitled ‘Bagpipes from Baghdad’ surfaced on the net. That leaked track included some blatant suggestions about Mariah Carey and her newlywed spouse, Nick Cannon, as a matter of fact; Eminem was quite blunt with what he said about the couple. At one point in time, fans and media alike were positive that Nick Cannon was going to respond with a diss song towards Eminem for his remarks about Mariah and possibly destroy his already fading career. Sometime last week, Nick Cannon lashed out against the Detroit MC on a blog posted to his twitter, which he later took down. Apparently, that diss song never occurred and according to media outlets, it will never occur.

Cannon recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly concerning the feud that never was and explained his reasoning for not responding to the derogatory comments about him and Mariah.

These were his comments to the celebrated magazine:

“I felt like I said what I had to say, I didn’t take [the post] down, like, ‘Oh, somebody instructed me to do it’ or anything like that. It was just one of those things, like, I said it. [That post] pretty much crashed my site. There’d be thousands and thousands of comments and people couldn’t leave comments on other posts or any of that stuff. So that was the only reason why I took it down.”

Cannon continued to add that he has no animosity for the blog and doesn’t take anything back that he included in the post:

“I feel exactly the same way by it and stick by everything, but I think it’s one of those things where it becomes that it’s not really that big of a deal, you know?”

And with the feud that never was:

“I never even considered it as beef, it’s not beef. It’s just, Hey, I heard the record. I said what I had to say.”

He went on to include his relationship with Mariah and his thoughts on the status:

“I feel that my relationship with my wife is one of the best things — or the best thing — that’s ever happened to me and it has nothing to do with celebrity or this industry. It’s all about, you know, just love and finding love and being happy and respecting the union that it is.”

Eminem later stated that Nick Cannon misunderstood the record and his intentions. Em nor any of his representatives have yet to comment on the track and the statements that it includes.

I know Nick Cannon wasn’t that stupid to actually release a diss track against Eminem. His lyrical skills will never compare to that of Em’s. However, it would have been an interesting spectacle to see Eminem murk the shit out of Nick’s corny ass. Now that I think about it, Cannon should have stepped up his game and responded, just so Eminem can respond fiercer than before.

Kanye West Discusses Release of Philosophical Book

It seems as though the Louis Vuitton Don has more talent up his sleeves than just lyricism, production, and a subtle yet unique fashion sense, apparently our own Chi-Town MC is also philosophical. Sometime last year, Kanye West collaborated with marketer, philosopher J. Sakiya Sandifer and wrote the book entitled ‘Thank You and You’re Welcome.’

Ye recently spoke with MTV News about the philosophy of Sandifer and even included his thoughts on other philosophical books that inspired him.

These were his comments:

He inspired the format of the book, because he wrote a book called ‘Think, Think, Think and Think Again, [He did] bullet points in bold graphics, and he expounded upon them … whereas books hide the main points chapters in. You have to read so much to get so much out of it. We wanted to make it simple for people who are non-readers, who don’t feel like doing all that, and still get the point across.”

West added that one of his favorite philosophies in the book is ‘Get used to getting used.’

“To use someone is necessary. What’s negative is to misuse, overuse or abuse somebody. To use is necessary. If you can’t get used, then you’re useless.

Sandifer enlightened the readers by explaining his meaning behind the phrase:

“That really came from my entrepreneurial journey, I would complain when my phone wasn’t ringing. ‘No, I want to be used.’ Being the resident philosopher, I put it in that context.”

Apparently, the two have collaborated several times before, even on certain tracks that West produced and several Grammy acceptance speeches that he recited over the course of the years. According to Sandifer, they might even write a second installment to the soon to be released book:

“It’s just gonna be another collection of our ideas and theories, it’s not gonna be like ‘Thank You and You’re Welcome Volume Two.’ I think that would be limiting.”

‘Thank You and You’re Welcome’ has been selling on his website for quite some time and will officially hit stores on July 7.

Who knew Kanye was so deep in philosophy? I guess it adds to his ingenious creations in music and the route he chose to take with that music. Either way, I don’t think I would buy the book per say, I might download the e-book, but who knows. Would you go out and buy the book?

Audio of Eminem Speaking about Nick Cannon

Apparently, there was an audio recorded about Eminem speaking upon Nick Cannon’s response to the song that was released entitled ‘Bagpipes from Baghdad.’ Here is the audio off of the Tim Westwood Show stating that he had no idea that Nick Cannon was going to respond the way he did. Westwood asks Em some interesting questions.
