Kanye West Speaks after Paparazzi Altercation

Honolulu, HI – Sometime last week, it was reported on practically every media outlet across the world that Kanye West and his Road Manager, Don Crowley, were arrested for apparent felony vandalism stemming from an altercation with the paparazzi at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Both West and Crowley were released on a $20,000 bail last Thursday afternoon (Sept. 11), prior to their arrest that same morning. Both men are awaiting trial. Since after, West has seemed to have put that spectacle behind him as he recently posted a couple of comments on his blog with a nonchalant attitude as if the incident never occurred.

This is what he posted after reaching Honolulu

“We back in the lab!!! I’m cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn’t cool. I gotta work now… I’ll rant later!”

Since then his blog has had 12 posts since last Friday speaking on various subjects including comments about Stacey Dash and the new cover of Interview magazine.

At press time, police reports state that at the time of the incident, member of the paparazzi approached West and Crowley and began taking photos and recording video. A shuffle ignited and their camera equipment was damaged by West and Crowley. West is currently working on his new album, ‘808s and Heartbreaks’ due out in December. His first single is ‘Love Lockdown,’ which was performed at the 2008 MTV Music Awards, will be set for radio release sometime in October.

On the real, Kanye has always had an anger problem, even with all his bitch-fits, you would assume the worst. But then again, paparazzi can be really annoying. With his album, I’m actually waiting to see what he has up his sleeves for this one, the title sounds interesting, and his first single is on the contemporary side, so maybe his beats and his lyricism might be on the up and up. Either way, we have to wait until December to see what Ye has in store for us and around that time Hov will also have an album out as well.

Kelis Acquitted of All Charges

Miami, FL. – Sometime back in March of 2007, Nas’ wife, the Milkshake originator, was arrested in Miami Beach by undercover police officers posing as prostitutes. According to police reports she was arrested for screaming racial profanities towards the female officers. Kelis was taken to the Miami Beach station and held for charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Last Thursday (Sept. 11), Kelis and her bow, Nas, were attending Miami court proceedings and after three days, she was acquitted of all charges pertaining to the incident that occurred that March. Spokesperson for vocalist is stating that they will be filing their own separate lawsuit against the Miami Beach Police division for apprehending her to begin with.

These were the comments she gave to media on Friday (Sept.12) concerning her feelings on the aftermath of the whole incident:

I’m thrilled that justice prevailed in the end. Racial profiling is a very serious matter. Unfortunately, most victims learn to deal with this form of harassment in their daily lives because they feel that they don’t have a voice or because they’re not able to absorb the costs to legally fight it in court. I hope that this sheds light on the fact that wearing a uniform and carrying a badge does not allow you to act above the law.”

Her defense attorney, Ira N Loewy, omitted these comments to the media as well:

“We feel vindicated that the court recognized that Kelis did nothing wrong, her protest over the illegal and unjustified harassment of her husband and friends was protected by her constitutional civil right to speech. She plans to bring a civil suit against the Miami Beach Police for this violation of her civil rights and unlawful arrest.”

At press time, her greatest hits album that was released in early March of this year debuted on the UK Charts at number 71. She has since moved on from her previous label and is still in negotiating with another. Her fifth album is still in the works and under wraps.

When was the last time we’ve heard anything from this girl, it’s been a minute. It’s good to see that she can still rely on her husband’s finances to get through life, cause obviously her last greatest hits compilation didn’t do so well.

News from Beyonce’s Third Studio Album

New York, NY – It’s been a minute since we heard anything from the grammy award-winning soultress, Beyonce. Juggling between doing shows, starring in movies, and spending time with her bow, Jay-Z, apparently she is also recording music for her new, yet to be titled, album. Label representatives are stating that Beyonce co-wrote and co-produced all the tracks on her next album and is slated to be “her most personal, reflective and revelatory collection to-date.”

Interesting enough, her label and distribution, Music World Music and Columbia has set a slated release for November 18, however, we have yet to hear any new material from the album. Apparently a lot of industry heavyweights have come forth stating that they have worked or will work on the album in the next upcoming weeks.

Justin Timberlake told MTV News UK, “I’ll be in the studio this week with Beyoncé. Who knows what will come out of that?”

Mega producer/songwriter, Sean Garrett recently let the world know his next exciting project on the red carpet at the VMAs, “I got to get a big secret out: Beyoncé! I just finished some incredible records with her. She’s probably going to be mad at me for telling you all, sorry, B!”

Miami-based producer Jim Jonsin, who just produced the number 1 T.I. hit ‘Whatever You Like,’ apparently also has his hand in the pot, as he produced the leaked ‘Beautiful Nightmare.’ It is still uncertain if that track will even make the album cut.

At press time, Cadillac Records where Beyonce stars at Etta James has been completed; however, a release date has yet to be secured. Two different tracks, ‘If I Were a Boy’ and ‘Single Ladies,’ will be released sometime in October, so we look forward to that.

Beyonce has a lot going for her in 2008 and 2009, already on her third solo album and still a best-seller is amazing. I just hope this album is all it’s cracked up to be as all this hype is circulating immensely. Her release date is just around the corner and we have yet to hear any official singles off the anticipated album, I’m not quite sure what her marketing staff has in store, but I hope their strategy works out in the long run. Wait I forgot, she’s Beyonce, no marketing needed, her name is enough to sell over a million records.
