Fat Joe ‘Disgusted’ with Daddy Yankee’s Political Views

New York, NY – It has become widely acknowledged that lately politics and music have somehow intertwined together and caused a chain reaction amongst the industry and the government. As the presidential election draws closer by the day, people are taking their views and choices a lot more serious as each candidate’s supporters are starting to speak out and come out of the woodwork. Even in music, most artists are expressing their own views by vividly coming forth and making their presence known even to their fans. Artists essentially hold a majority of influence amongst their fans whether in music or culture. Between industry artists like Diddy, Young Jeezy, Nas, The Game, Ludacris, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Common, and more recently Fat Joe and Daddy Yankee, they have literally made statements in their interviews and especially their music about who exactly they are supporting. Most of the Hip-Hop world has expressed their support on Democratic presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama, however, the reigning King of Reggaeton, Daddy Yankee, recently came forth and surprised the nation by endorsing Republican presidential candidate, Senator John McCain.

Earlier this week, Republican Senator John McCain held a rally at the Phoenix High School in Arizona to speak to his supporters. Surprise guest appearance by Daddy Yankee shocked many people as he publicly gave an aspiring recommendation to McCain’s campaign.

“I believe in his ideals and his proposals to lead this nation. He’s been a fighter for the Hispanic community.”

As news flooded through the industry and the media about Daddy Yankee’s surprise endorsement, one Hip-Hop artist in the Hispanic community wasn’t too partial with the Reggaeton artist’s political views. The Bronx native, Joey Crack recently spoke with MTV News via phone while he was in Denver interestingly attending the Democratic National Convention and lashed out against his fellow New York native and gave his opinion ever so vividly.

Put this in the MTV News headline: ‘Fat Joe Says Daddy Yankee Is a Sellout.’ Just like that! I gotta go in. I’m talking to little cousins that like [Yankee] and all that, and they’re starting to believe that John McCain is [the best candidate]. I can’t have that.

I opened the newspaper and got sick to my stomach. I felt like I wanted to vomit when I seen that. The reason why I called him a sellout is because I feel he did that for a [publicity] look, rather than the issues that are affecting his people that look up to him. How could you want John McCain in office when George Bush and the Republicans already have half a million people losing their homes in foreclosure? We’re fighting an unjust war. It’s the Latinos and black kids up in the frontlines, fighting that war. We over here trying to take the troops out of Iraq and bring peace, this guy immediately wants war. If not with Iraq or Afghanistan, he’ll start a new one with Iran. I feel real disgusted that Daddy Yankee would do that. Either he did that for a look, or he’s just not educated on politics.

Crack even omitted that his view on politics are so unethical that he’s welling to educate Daddy Yankee on his ignorant views on politics.

“If he believes John McCain is the better candidate for the Latinos, we could sit down. Even if he wants to get into a debate, we can debate anywhere, New York, Puerto Rico.”

Certain issues that Obama addressed on became very appealing to the Bronx native and interested him immensely as the issue on universal healthcare was something that came up from his past.

“Like I said, with me, my whole philosophy on blacks and Latinos is: We’re all one, we’re in the same ghettos, same inner cities, and we’re suffering from the same problems. Every problem the blacks have, the Latinos have. There’s two systems of health care: the one for the rich that’s really good, then there’s the one for the inner city, where they leave ladies in the emergency room unattended for 24 hours until they drop dead. People don’t even check on her hours after she’s dead. This is normal stuff. This is what’s happening in the U.S.”

My own sister, to me she was murdered by doctors. She was having a baby in the Bronx, and they gave her an epidural, a normal procedure that was supposed to numb her from the waist down. They numbed her from the waist up, because they had amateurs learning in the Bronx hospitals. Not even real doctors, students murdered my sister in the inner city, in the Bronx. I love what Barack is doing with the heath care system. Once he gets universal health care for everybody, then we gotta step up our system to make it the best in the world.

Fat Joe expresses that he would like to see a better world, a better America, a sort of change in perception.

“I travel the world doing shows, and people hate the United States because of the policies of George Bush. Years ago, you would go overseas, and the people would praise you and love the United States. I feel Barack Obama is the one person who could bring not just the United States, but the world together. I was in Africa two days ago, and I seen people with ‘I Love Obama’ on their bumper sticker. He just spoke to 200,000 people in Germany.”

He wants to express to the general public how important this upcoming election is and expresses deep emotion on the topic.

“Fat Joe says it’s not an option to vote,” he insisted. “We have to vote and change this country around. Everybody has to get out there and register. I’m not asking, I’m telling you to go vote. I’m forcing you.”

At press time, Daddy Yankee has not yet commented on the whole situation as is currently out of the country. This year’s presidential debate will be held on September 26, 2008 at the University of Mississippi. This will be a political event not worth missing.

On the real, I have to agree with Joe on this one, but I’m not quite sure the reasoning behind Daddy Yankee’s choice of endorsement with McCain. Practically half the Hip-Hop world has endorsed Obama publicly; however it is a question on why Daddy Yankee would go the other way against his fellow musicians.

The Game’s Visual Imprint of his Perfect Production

Los Angeles, CA – West Coast artist, The Game, just released his third studio album and has received many positive responses. With this new album, ‘LAX,’ Game practically put the pieces together himself like a puzzle. His own creativities and ideals put into the album as he had most of the control. With the production side of the album, he incorporated many different sounds from a variety of heavyweight producers, some tracks didn’t even make the cut and the reason behind that really had to do with The Game.

The leftover tracks that made the Bonus CD cut went to several different changes, whether it was verse he didn’t like or the beat didn’t go with the song. All in all, he just wanted the perfect album. Game recently spoke to MTV about how he visualizes a beat and how he essentially describes it to the producer.

“Whenever I call a producer and tell them how I want the beat to be, I paint a picture. I called Just Blaze, and I’ll be like, ‘Yo, picture Jay-Z being in an elevator in the Bronx. … It’s broke, and all of sudden he presses the garage button and it shoots through the roof. He lands on Jupiter. And he walks out in all black. I want that record!’ And Blaze will be like, ‘All right. I’m about to do that record.’”

“When you listen to my album and people say, ‘You know how to pick beats,’ nah, I know how to pick scenarios and producers who understand my scenarios and know how to transform them into music. When it comes out the speakers, it sounds like what I asked for.”

However, it is quite obvious that Game has spent most of his production visuals and ideas to Miami’s own Cool & Dre, as they produced tracks ‘Money’ and ‘My Life,’ the hit single with Lil Wayne.

“Cool & Dre did that beat, (Money). Its Miami, sounds Miami. If it is the next single, we gonna shoot the video in Miami. ‘Money’ is gonna be a big record. I’mma let the streets pick the single. If I had my way, ‘Let Us Live’ would be it. That’s my favorite joint on the album probably.”

At press time, Game’s LAX sold over 130,000 digital downloads on itunes alone. This was said to be his last album, but that has yet to be confirmed.

The Game has too much at stake to retire after three albums, even if he was trying to follow behind his mentor Dr. Dre, his legacy has yet to reach the level that Dre has reached. His choice of production in his music and his vivid lyrics make him an astonishing musician, he just needs to check his stats before he does anything irrational.

Diddy Complains about Je

t Fuel Prices

Los Angeles, CA – As we are all well aware, we have been affected by the ever-so raising gas prices that has plagued America, as well as, other countries around the world. You would think that the number 3 Forbes Hip-Hop cash king would be able to pay for jet fuel without complaint or whining.

Apparently, Diddy has experienced the rising gas prices as well as the general public as of late. The Bad Boy mogul owns a $200,000 private jet, but has just recently come to a point where he has a problem paying for fuel that operates the jet. Now he has resulted to fly commercial airlines now just to get from one point to another.

He recently posted a video on youtube.com asking his “Saudi Arabia brothers and sisters” for free oil. This is what he had to say about the whole situation.

“I’m actually flying commercial, that’s how high gas prices are. I’m at the gate right now. This is really happening; proof gas prices are too high. Tell whoever the next president is we need to bring gas prices down.”

I know for a fact he’s not the only one feeling like that. As gas prices begin to soar, who knows what gas will be after the next election. I guess the future of this whole economy lies on the voters of America to choose cautiously and intelligently on who our next President should be. I strongly urge all of you to go out and summit your vote this upcoming November.
