Artists & Celebrities Post Thoughtful Tweets in Remembrance of 9/11

It has been a decade since the horrific events that shocked our entire nation as it occurred in New York City. Ten years later, nothing is forgotten. Yesterday, the nation’s people endured the anniversary of 9/11 as New York held a memorial at Ground Zero with the families of the victims that perished during the attack on the Twin Towers; this also included the families of the men and women of the NYPD and the FDNY who risked their lives gallantly trying to save others. 3,000 names were announced that day. Services were also held at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shankston, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon, respectively.

And as it was felt everywhere, within music and Hollywood, artists and celebrities endured the same pain as we all did that they opted to their twitters to post thoughtful tweets for the remembrance of that day early Sunday morning.

These were collected tweets from different artists and celebrities across the industry:

Young Money CEO Lil Wayne:

“Remembering those we lost on this unforgettable day. God bless their families and may their souls rest in peace.”

Young Money femcee Nicki Minaj:

“Sending my love to the victims of 9/11. Remembering the heroism. The brave men & women. The troops. We become alive in the time of fear.”

Kevin Jonas and the Jonas Brothers jointly tweeted:

“Remembering and praying for all those who lost loved ones 10 years ago today. Our thoughts and prayers go to the families of all effected by 9-11 #911neverforget.”

Gym Class Heroes frontman, Travie McCoy, who is also a native of New York, added his thoughts:

“Something about flying on this particular day that is mildly eerie. My heart goes out to the families of the victims of 9/11. Very sad day.”

Writer/Director Kevin Smith, who is a New Jersey native, added these thoughts:

“10 years ago, I was fast asleep in Toluca Lake when my Mom called, yelling ‘We’re under attack.’ My heart goes out to all the families and friends of the people in both the planes and the buildings who were murdered 10 years ago today.”

‘Rescue Me’s’ Denis Leary, who runs the Leary Firefighters Foundation tweeted:

“10 yrs ago today. Greatest rescue in the history of the fire service. FDNY. Brave. Selfless. True. Paddy Brown. Timmy Higgins. John Moran. Just 3 of the 343 who gave their lives that day. Never forget. Always remember.”

Kim Kardashian also added her thoughts:

“My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families affected by the awful tragedy of 9/11.”

I still can’t believe that 10 years have already passed. I can still remember waking up that morning and watching the news and watching the events as it occurred. It was quite shocking and it really looked like a scene from a movie. My thoughts and prayers go out the families of the victims that lost their lives during the horrific events of 9/11, the people in the Twin Towers, and the officers and firefighters down below after the collapse. Nothing is forgotten.

Wiz Khalifa Speaks on Commencing his Follow Up to ‘Rolling Papers’

Wiz Khalifa refuses to rest on his laurels. Just six months after the release of his gold major-label debut, Rolling Papers, the “Black and Yellow” MC revealed to MTV News that he has already started work on his follow-up.

” ‘No Sleep’ is gonna do what it’s gonna do,” Khalifa said of the fourth and latest single from Rolling Papers. “Hopefully, it takes off; it’s been getting a lot of love so far.”
As of now, there is still no date or title for the next Wiz album, but fans of the Pittsburgh rap star will get to hear some new music from him later this month when his pal Chevy Woods drops his mixtape The Cookout. “You know me, I’m always working, doing new stuff,” Khalifa said. “I got artists that I’m working on and stuff like that; Chevy is doin’ his thing.”

The next artist to emerge from the smoked-out spitter’s Taylor Gang crew is Chevy Woods. During the past few months, Wiz and Woods have been actively promoting Cookout, the soon-to-be-released Chevy tape that will prominently feature Khalifa as well.

“[Wiz’s] gonna be on at least half or more [of the songs],” Chevy told Mixtape Daily in July. “It’s my tape, featuring him.”

“It’s gonna be coming out in early September, so anybody who wants to hear some new raps from me, they can go get that,” Wiz confirmed.”And, of course, Chevy is gonna kill it and do his thing. It’s gonna be real fun.”

Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for more updated news on Wiz Khalifa and his sophomore LP.
I am still upset over the fact that Tyler, the Creator snatched up that VMA award from right under Wiz’s nose. Either way, looking forward to his new album to drop.
