Method Man Discusses Details into Upcoming Album

New York, NY – The lyrical assassin Method Man has been out of the limelight and out of the music game for quite some time now. Lately speculation has been stating that Meth is in the process of completing his latest album. Apparently those rumors have been proven true.

The original New York emcee recently spoke with VIBE.com about who he would like to work with between features and production.

These were his comments:

“Right now I want to get that kid from Odd Future, Tyler, The Creator—I just want to hear some of the shit he got. He’s in that vein that I like as far as beats go,” he said, dismissing comparisons between OF and Wu-Tang Clan. “I don’t see any similarities, as far as the movement, maybe. But I don’t see any similarities because some of the shit they talk about. The shit we use to talk about was 5% Nation of Islam, Gods and Earth…you know, ‘block shit.’ Let them do them and I enjoy them. I’m not going to lie. And yes I do know more than just one song that they’ve done. Some of these people on YouTube and shit, they’re fucking incredible with their comments.”

When it comes to the production side, he spoke on attempts of reaching out to Timbaland and Just Blaze.

We’ve tried. I’ve tried [Just Blaze] a few times and it just didn’t work out. Timbaland on the other hand, he would send you a skeleton beat and I can’t rock to a skeleton beat. I need an actual beat because when I write, I write to the music, so that didn’t work out.

As of now, the title of the upcoming album has been set as ‘Crystal Meth,’ but that has to be confirmed. The same goes for a release date tha has been pushed back 2012.

Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for updated news on Method Man and his upcoming album.
Forget the album, when is he and Red doing the sequel to ‘How High,’ that’s the news we’re waiting on. And of course, the release of another Wu Tang album would be great as well.

Hugh Jackman Supports the Hip-Hop Movement

Los Angeles, CA – The man behind Wolverine and the main protagonist in the latest blockbuster, ‘Real Steel,’ recently spoke about Hip-Hop in his latest interview. Apparently Hugh Jackman is a supporter of the Hip-Hop movement. If you’ve recently watched the film ‘Real Steel,’ then you would have noticed all Eminem music being played during certain key scenes.

During a Q&A with Next Movie, Jackman praises some of the game’s biggest starts and experience at their shows.

These were his comments:

Q: During the filming of ‘Real Steel’ I heard that you and director Shawn Levy went to an Eminem concert. There’s an Eminem song in the movie, and played in the trailer for ‘Real Steel.’ Can we assume that you two are big fans of his?

A: I think Eminem is extraordinary, and one of the greatest live acts I’ve ever seen. I’m a real fan of live music, but if I go to a concert and I feel that I’m just getting their CD, basically, played for me, it bores me. I would prefer to just listen to it. But he, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre: It was one of the most electrifying nights I’ve ever been a part of. I was actually ushered to this area and I went behind the stage and just watching Dr. Dre get ready to go onstage, it was kind of like watching a prizefighter getting ready for a big fight. There’s just so much that they put in to every song. And Eminem, he’s just, oh my God, he’s just the consummate performer. A professional. And everything comes from an honest place. Comes from his heart. That’s what I like about him.

At press time, ‘Real Steel’ is number one at the box office after the weekend craze. Interestingly enough, producers have stated that based upon the success of ‘Real Steel,’ a sequel would then be in the works for a release in 2013.

All in the all, the movie wasn’t that bad, of course the soundtrack was phenomenal. Think about it, a semi-Rocky plot, but instead fighting robots.

Drake Pushes ‘Take Care’ Back to November

In a new message written to his fans Drake says his highly anticipated sophomore album Take Care gets pushed back due to sample clearances.

Read the message below:

The new date for Take Care is November 15th, 2011. I managed to create this album in my hometown of Toronto and the thoughts and stories I wanted to get across just became so clear. It truly felt like when I was here 3 years ago making So Far Gone. So I have completed 19 songs (17 on physical and 2 on bonus), and have run into a roadblock of clearing 3 samples in time to make the October 24th date. My options were to take the songs off and make the birthday release happen, or to take an extra couple weeks to get the paper work right and give you the album they way I NEED you to hear it. The choice was clear as day for me. November 15th you will get Take Care the exact way I created it with no trimmings. This music means too much to me to get attached to dates and I do apologize for the delay but I promise that it is only for the benefit of our experience together. Club Paradise Tour will also be moved to when students are back from the Christmas/New Year break so that I can get to more schools. New dates will be released in the next week…see you all soon.
