Super Producer Timbaland to be Finished with Hip-Hop

New York, NY – What is going on in the world of Hip-Hop? It seems as though the producer who assisted in bringing Aaliyah into the limelight might be considering retirement from Hip-Hop. Ever since Timbaland ventured out into different genres of music some years ago, we have all heard a side of him that differs from his Hip-Hop origins. The Virginia Beach native once stated that he wanted to conquer Top 40 radio with the different artists from Pop to Rock that he was planning on working with. Those artists eventually garnered their own hits from the super production of Timbo. From Justin Timberlake to One Republic to Nelly Furtado, he has been on point with the artist and direction that they were gunning for.

And now with the recent release of the sequel to his ‘Shock Value’ series, the sounds on that album fluctuates from Hip-Hop to Pop with the assistance from Justin, Katy Perry, and oddly enough the talents of Miley Cyrus. This album has even debuted the rapping talents of Brandy, herself. Even with all that measured into one album, the super producer has made his decision and doesn’t seem to be budging from it. Timbo recently spoke to MTV News about the sudden decision and gives his reasons for the motive.

These were his comments:

“If this album does as semi-well as the last one, I’m done, I’m not going through the stress no more. I will do it for my fans and give it away for free.

After my last album, I know where my bread and butter is at. I know 75 percent [of the people who buy my album] are women who love Timbaland and most are the women who watch ‘Desperate Housewives’ and all those others. I did this research. It’s the women who watch ‘Sex and the City,’ ‘Desperate Housewives’ — all the real go-to-the-bar women like Timbaland, and mostly European women. It lets me know that my fanbase is mostly women and they are from all cultures. So it’s not a person who loves mostly hip-hop. It’s a person who loves everything besides hip-hop.”

Either way you look at it, he states that he still loves Hip-Hop; however the transition that the genre has taken is what that has him less inspired:

“I was done with hip-hop a long time ago. Once my generation left, I left. I do it, but there’s nobody from my generation besides Jay who’s doing it. I look at Lil Wayne as being from my generation. Some people are still acceptable. Kanye is acceptable from my generation.

It’s just not the same. By it not being the same, I kind of fade to black. I did music [on this album] that fits where I was going to in my age bracket. ‘What does Tim listen to in his car all the time?’ I love ’80s music. So how do I infuse ’80s with modern-day music? You Timbo the King, you gotta figure it out. I figured it out a couple of years ago with Nelly [Furtado] and Justin and myself. We had a tremendous run. I think it was good for me to do it that, because some people would say ‘Tim is cold.’ The same people who smile in my face would be the same ones to talk behind my back. But I got this run, I’m not gonna stop until I wanna stop.”

At press time, Timbaland’s third solo studio album entitled ‘Shock Value II’ was released earlier this week. There has been mixed reviews from the critics throughout the media and the industry about the concept of the album. The 17 track album features of a mixture of artists ranging from Hip-Hop to R&B and Pop.

Let’s be real, throughout the years that Hip-Hop has grown from the mid to late 90’s, Timbaland as a producer and an artist has been a part of that growth. He has provided us with a plethora of hits from artists like Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy Elliott, Bubba Sparxxx, and with Magoo. He was even the main reason behind the quick raise of Justin Timberlake. I must admit he was the main reason behind a lot of major hits, despite what some may say. And with those hits, you gotta admit that anytime you hear that a track was produced by Timbo, it has got to be something to have to hear. I guess this is why he gets a half mill for his beats. So he’s the real producer and the other is just a piano man.

Chris Brown Attacks the Music Industry via Twitter

It is quite interesting how people never forget your actions, sometimes those actions become stains that keep a lasting impression. The once R&B phenomenon Chris Brown seems to be one of those victims that people never forgot his actions. The brutal attack on his then girlfriend Rihanna has kept a lasting impression in people’s minds and even with the release of his latest album, the people have yet to forgive and forget. His return to the music world wasn’t quite what he expected.

Chris Brown’s latest album ‘Graffiti’ has apparently been boycotted from many different major stores that use to carry his CD before the incident. An upset Brown took to twitter to let loose his transgressions.

This is what he tweeted:

“I’m tired of this shit. Major stores are blackballing my CD. Not stockin the shelves and lying to customers. What the fuck do I gotta do…”

Brown continued to lash out as he returned an hour later to tweet that he would not retract his comments and included more profanity with the addition that the music industry can ‘kiss his ass.’

Within the next hour, Brown returned and left this for his fans:

“Thx again to my real fans. U don’t go unnoticed. Love y’all.”

At press time, representatives for neither Chris Brown nor his label, Jive Records, have commented on his twitter tirade that apparently have picked by literally every media outlet out here.

Did Chris really think that people have forgetting his actions on that February night? Literally half of the world is still taunting him as a ‘woman beater’ no matter what he does or tries to do. On the real though, I’ve actually had a chance to listen to ‘Graffiti,’ some of the tracks on the album are quite good and worth a listen. Either way at the end of the day, his verbal attack at the industry is very premature and unnecessary on his part.
