Trick Daddy Offended by Rick Ross Verse in ‘Valley of Death’
Miami, FL – Several weeks ago, the acclaimed Mayor of Miami, disclosed to the world that he has been suffering from a skin disease called ‘Lupus’ for the past several years. During a radio interview promoting his autobiography, Trick Daddy revealed the disease and explained the story behind his diagnosis. Now the two Miami Hip-Hop veterans are not engaged in any controversy, however with the upcoming release of the Boss of Miami’s third album, ‘Deeper Than Rap,’ a certain verse on a track caught the attention of Trick Daddy that he really didn’t take a liking to. As a matter of fact, he was actually quite offended by the remark.
The track in reference is that of the controversial ‘Valley of Death’ that Ross has put together to mention various facts that have been circulating within his life as of late. One of the lines in the track isn’t necessarily directed towards Trick; however it does address the condition he is stricken with. This was the actual verse taken from the song ‘Valley of Death:’
“Caught a little case, buddy had a little cheddar/ Pled out to 15, poured his life in a letter/ Very first line he called Trick Daddy stupid/ Said he had AIDS telling people that it’s lupus/ Not the one just to jump to conclusions/ I’m getting money, small talk can be a nuisance.”
That verse wasn’t a personal gesture towards Trick, but rather a trip down memory lane for Ross stating a personal fact. According to Trick, it seems as though he didn’t appreciate the verse all too much as the situation goes deeper than that. He recently spoke to MTV News about the track and why he deems it offensive towards him and the people suffering from the same skin disease. These were his comments:
“Millions of people are stricken with lupus. I have stayed out of the bullshit, I will continue to stay out of it. Ross had been with Slip-N-Slide Records as long as I have been with Slip-N-Slide Records. He’s known I’ve had lupus for 10 years. I was referred to my doctor by Ted Lucas who is the head of Slip-N-Slide Records. I would like to apologize to everyone suffering with lupus. I would like to apologize for the insults.”
MTV continued on by questioning Trick about the video that leaked sometime last year when news surfaced about Ross being an ex-Correctional Officer. The video clip that surfaced contained an interview with Ross whereby the interviewer expressed that it was Trick Daddy who was the first to state that Ross was a CO. Ross retorted angrily with some harsh words towards his then label mate:
“That video is, like, three or four years old, it only just leaked. Somebody said, ‘How you feel about Trick Daddy saying you’re a prison guard?’ I ain’t never said that. He fell for that. Me and Ross had a conversation after that. I said, ‘I’m not interested in fake beefing with you.’ I’m not interested in beefing period — I have never been. I’d rather focus on getting money and building my company Dunk Ryders.”
Interestingly enough, during that same interview with MTV News, Trick Daddy just so happened to reveal some interesting new developments with his upcoming album:
E-Class (CEO of Poe Boy Music Group), he’s working with me, we’re on the same team. He’s joining our labels together, he’s doing my management, we’re getting money. This is something we should have done a long time ago. I’ve always respected E-Class, he’s always respected me.”
At press time, that joint venture has yet to be confirmed. Trick Daddy’s upcoming album is still in production and looking for an early summer release. Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for updated news in this latest development.
There is speculation going around that Trick’s new album will be entitled ‘Finally Famous: Born a Thug, Die a Thug,’ but that has yet to be officially confirmed. Now if Poe Boy and Trick are working together for this new album, the idea just might work. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Hot Boys Confirm Reunion
New Orleans, LA – It seems as though the impossible is about to be possible, the long awaited Hot Boys reunion has been confirmed to take place as reported sometime last year. With Cash Money pushing their main artist, Lil Wayne, we thought that this project was to be put on the backburner as a further future idea, that future idea seems to be closer than our first thought. Apparently, they’ve already performed onstage not too long ago, keeping the hype of their new reunion still in the air.
Three of the artists that comprise the original Hot Boys have already confirmed the reunion to several media outlets that also includes Lil Wayne. The only Hot Boy that has yet to state any official word on the project is that of Young Turk. As a matter of fact, Juvenile recently spoke with Vibe Magazine confirming his side of the story to the media. These were his comments to the celebrated magazine:
“I already signed the deal, so for me, I’m gonna definitely say its go. I already received the check. Wayne is going to put that out, so for me and Wayne, it’s a go. I don’t know if the business been straightened out, but I know B.G.’s on board and he’s willing to do it. I don’t know where Turk stands on the business side.”
Last year, two of the signed on artists including Mannie Fresh were suppose to reunite as scheduled at a club venue in New Orleans until gunshots rang out in the club causing the show to be shut down. Juve and B.G. were enthused about the reunion, but Wayne couldn’t make it due to the fact that he was on tour in Europe at the time promoting ‘Tha Carter III.’ B.G., however, commented on that particular incident to MTV News:
“It was going to be a big, historic moment. I was just saying that everybody was cool during the All-Star Weekend, then they start shooting. Why’d they have to shoot up on our night? Guess that’s Chopper City for ya.”
As busy as his schedule has been as of late and for the next couple of months in fact, Wayne, the once behind the scenes Hot Boy who was the only artist to stick with Baby and Slim after the fallout, even confirmed to media outlets that he himself would be a part of the upcoming most anticipated Hot Boys reunion album.
At press time, that reunion album is still untitled and has yet to receive a release date. The Hot Boys most successful and highest selling album to date was that of Guerilla Warfare released back in 1999. That album spawned their biggest hits ‘We on Fire’ and ‘I Need a Hot Girl.’
This album is taking too damn long to come out. Let’s be real, a lot of us grew up on the Hot Boys, they were like the hottest selling group of the late 90’s. That whole Cash Money era was a huge part of what we listen to today, hence the structure of Lil Wayne. He came from being the youngest artist in the group to the platinum artist he is today, huge accomplishment.
Diddy Terminates Aundrea Fimbres Contract with Danity Kane
New York, NY – In the ongoing reality soap opera that is Danity Kane, it seems as though the final verdict for the highly successful Pop group is that there is no group. One of the two final members was just recently fired from her contract with Bad Boy by the Donald Trump of music, Diddy himself.
During the second to last episode of the ‘Making the Band 4’series that aired this past Thursday night (April 16), Diddy reminded the two remaining members, Dawn Richard and Aundra Fimbres, about the formal termination of Aubrey O’Day, D. Woods, and Shannon Bex (who chose not to return) out of their contracts. He continued on stating that after long consideration he decided to add Fimbres to that list.
These were his comments on the show:
“You’re a great person, you’re a great girl, but if I did another group, I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing a group with you. I’ve given a lot of thought and I’m gonna let you out your contract too.”
The Bad Boy mogul then continued on stating that he would allow Richard to continue her contract at Bad Boy and expressed his sincere reasoning behind the final decision:
As far as for you, Dawn, I still want to make music with you. I still want you to be signed to the label. And if I decide to put back together Danity Kane, then you’ll be the only member that’d still be there. This isn’t a decision I wanted to make. To be honest, y’all girls made this decision for me.”
Fimbres added some somber final words to the viewers after she was released from the group and her contract:
“We worked really, really hard to be where we are, and for it to end the way that it did sucks, but I can’t be mad. I’ve done the things that I came here to do. I’m connected to them for the rest of my life because of something we accomplished together. Danity Kane will always be D., Aubrey, Shannon, Dawn and me.”
Diddy even left comments to the fans of Danity Kane on his Tweeter after the dismay of the recent episode. This is what he wrote:
“To all the Danity Kane fans-i truly am sorry. I really did my best.. I’m lookin fwd 2 makin another female band! Thank u 4 all ur support!!! At the end of the day i just want people to be happy.. if Danity Kane couldn’t be happy together, i’d rather they be happy apart. All love!!!”
According to MTV, the last episode of this season of ‘Making the Band 4’ will air next Thursday (April 23). There is speculation buzzing around the net that the former members of DK will make cameo appearances.
Somebody must be fucking for tracks! Why would Diddy keep Dawn but not Aundra? On the real, not that I really care, but it was something I couldn’t surpass commenting about, I was never too partial with Danity Kane. We all know Cassie is doing it, why not add Dawn to the list? All in all, the situation is quite obvious.
