DJ Drama Completes Lil Wayne Dedication 3

The hype and anticipation surrounding this mixtape has been circulating across the world for the past several months. The mixtape king, Young Weezy, promised his fans a follow up and a street return after the release of the platinum selling ‘Tha Carter III.’ With the assistance of ATL, Grand Hustle DJ, DJ Drama, Lil Wayne releases ‘The Dedication 3’ to a world of patient anticipated fans. As part of the Gangsta Grillz mixtape series, Dedication 3 provides brand new material that differs of the two before whereby it only contained instrumentals. This time around, Drama omitted beats that he thought mixed the style that Wayne possessed, at the same time it also includes more of his Young Money artists, giving them time to be heard.

Drama recently spoke with MTV News concerning his latest project with Wayne that he is quite ecstatic about, adding his thoughts and what he incorporated into the most anticipated mixtape.

“People have their opinions or their comments, but Wayne putting out a mixtape shows he’s still in the game. [This mixtape] isn’t for the money or the fame, it’s for the people. It’s for the game. You can hate on Drama or Wayne all you want, but we’re doing this for the game.”

“I picked the ‘Art of Storytelling 4’ beat, you never heard nobody rip that ‘Art of Storytelling’ other than Outkast. People are scared of that. That’s [Andre] 3000 on there. Weezy went in, he killed it. He did his thing. The ‘Shootouts’ beat by Soulja Boy is on there. Wayne did the V.I.C. ‘Get Silly.” One of my favorites he did was the old Lil Jon and Too Short [track ‘Couldn’t Be a Better Player,’ which Wayne retitled ‘Dick Pleaser’]. Tip’s ‘Whatever You Like’ is on there. ‘Ain’t I,’ that beat is on there — it’s more singing on this tape clearly than part one or part two. But that’s where Wayne is right now, his zone.

I think it’s more … definitely more Young Money [Entertainment] than it was on the first two tapes. It was always Young Money on the tapes, but I think this one is more for what Wayne is doing. He knew people would be paying attention to the brand. It was a place for his artists to shine as well. I also have my artists Willie the Kid and La the Darkman on the tape. Just the brands alone, Dedication, Wayne, Gangsta Grillz — it’s that strong.

At press time, the album mixtape is said to be released sometime this Thursday, the tracklisting has already been confirmed and released. In other news, it has also been confirmed that Lil Wayne will be headlining a tour with his musical brethren T-Pain alongside the talents of Keyshia Cole and the Gym Class Heroes. That interesting tour is set to begin on December 18. Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for the lists of confirmed cities.

Jay-Z ConfirmsThe Blueprint 3 Will Not Drop in 2008

Despite all the speculation and news about Hov releasing his next anticipated album, the last LP under the Def Jam imprint before the end of 2008, Jay-Z has confirmed that ‘The Blueprint 3’ will not drop in 2008. Apparently, he is taking his time with the completion of the album and not in such a hurry. Even though New York radio personality, Angie Martinez, aired his latest single ‘History’ and spoke on the release, Jay stepped in and reiterated her comment about the release date. After the release of ‘Jockin’ Jay-Z,’ ‘History,’ and ‘Swagger Like Us,’ you would assume that the release wouldn’t be too far away. Musical brethren and probably the main production on his new album, Kanye West, spoke on the whole situation with MTV News and shed some light on Jay-Z’s progress.

“I mean, it’s phenomenal. We went in and we done the whole album. He wanted to do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. Now we’re gonna go in and just work on some more records. So I got some more stuff to kill it with! I think [Jay pushed the album back because] ‘Swagger’ just did so incredible. We wanted to go up [and make sure] everything was on that level.”

However, with Kanye’s next upcoming LP, after ‘808s & Heartbreaks,’ he had mentioned a follow up to his highly decorated ‘Graduation’ album entitled ‘Good Ass Job,’ MTV couldn’t let Ye go without receiving some info on that.

“Well, I wouldn’t put the pressure on myself to do another album; it’s like whatever happens, happens. I’m still thinking of a lot of music. I mean, I’m thinking of a lot of lyrics, and if it comes to me, I just go into the studio and do it and then drop it now. So it’s not a whole bunch of gimmicks and marketing, I let the other people do the marketing. I’m just like, ‘Dude, just figure out how to put the music out.’”

At press time West also confirms that Jay is aiming for a February 2009 release. One confirmed track is the sequel to the latest hit ‘Swagger Like Us,’ this one featuring Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Nas, and Andre 3000.

Let’s be real, Kanye talking about he doesn’t want to put pressure on another album, all the man does is music on a daily basis. He’s released two albums in less than a year, an extremely short time span between albums, especially winning the soundscan battle with 50 and now Luda wants to go toe to toe with Kanye on November 24, let’s see how that turns out. On another note, the sequel to ‘Swagger Like Us’ has an immaculate lineup that could have been a remix to the first, but either way I know those artists will lyrically destroy the track.

50 Cent Discusses Before I Self Destruct

Lately it seems that the Aftermath camp has been brewing up some new material as of late, since we are all quite aware of the Fif’s new studio LP ‘Before I Self Destruct,’ between artists and producers like Eminem and Dr. Dre, lyricism and production seem to be running wild across the latest unreleased tracks, don’t be surprised if Dre graces a feature himself. 50 Cent has already secured a release date for a December release alongside a film with the same title. 50 Cent recently spoke with MTV News which he seems to do on a daily basis concerning new tracks with his label brethren Eminem and new production of the infamous Dr. Dre.

50 spoke with MTV News concerning production credits on new tracks to hit the album some even meant for others.

“I did a song produced by Dr. Dre, I got the production from Detroit, because Dre was working with Em right before I got out there. I just missed him. I went through Em’s computer and found what I needed. Yes, I did. I got me the record I needed. I was like, ‘Wait till they hear this.’ I wrote it; Em heard it. He was like, ‘You gotta keep that for yourself. This is too crazy.’ First, I think he was gonna take it from me, then he was like, ‘He gotta use that for himself.’”

Fif also incline to mention that Em’s new verses on certain will be quite impression. He told MTV News that Em will be coming back hard and his lyrics are fierce especially in a new track peculiarly entitled ‘Norman Bates Hotel,’ but with a persona like Eminem, it’s not surprising.

At press time, ‘Before I Self Destruct,’ is under contract, his final album under the Interscope imprint aside a Greatest Hits album. There hasn’t been any news on whether or not he will renew his contract under contract or become a free agent. His fourth studio LP is set to be December 9, unless otherwise noted. In other news Lloyd Banks also has an album on the verge of release with Tony Yayo’s set to be released sometime in 2009. In Young Buck’s situation, he told MTV News that he is in the process of being bought out of his G-Unit contract.

Hopefully this album surpasses that of the last, ‘Curtis’ wasn’t up to par like his albums of before. Either way, when the hell are they going to release Dr. Dre’s Detox which has been in pre production for the past five years. And with 50 Cent’s contract, the man has a huge ego, he will probably try and renegotiate for a larger sum that of the previous and if they don’t give it to him he will probably threaten to walk, besides Interscope cannot afford to lose a selling artist like 50 Cent, so they might possibly comply.
