Beverage super Power Pepsico has ended it’s relationship with Lil Wayne after weeks of controversy regarding the lyrics on his verse on Future’s Karate Chop remix.Lil Wayne had signed on with Pepsi to promote there mountain Dew brand soda. The decision came almost after Reebok dropped Miami rapper Rick Ross for his offensive lyrics on Rocko’s U.O.E.N.O record where he implied date rape in his lyrics and 2 days after pulling the commercial ad rapper Tyler The Creator created also for a Mountain Dew campaign.

PepsiCo Inc., based in Purchase, N.Y., said in a statement Friday that Wayne’s “offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand.”

The black teen was visiting family in Mississippi in 1955 when he was killed, allegedly for whistling at a white woman. He was beating so badly he was hardly recognizable to friends and family.

Lil Wayne must have saw this coming because he did try to apologize ,although like Rick Ross many felt the apology lacked any sincerity.

Here’what Wayne said a few days ago in an attempt to apologize..

“It has come to my attention that lyrics from my contribution to a fellow artist’s song has deeply offended your family,” Wayne wrote. Till’s family released the letter from the 30-year-old rapper on Wednesday.

“As a father myself, I cannot imagine the pain that your family has had to endure. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge your hurt, as well as the letter you sent to me via your attorneys.”
