Add Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em to the list of artists joining the blonde hair dye craze following recent efforts from R&B star Chris Brown and rapper Wiz Khalifa.
Soulja Boy tweeted out his new look Tuesday (June 21) but did not provide an explanation behind the hairdo.
If Chris Brown is the new Sisqo then Soulja Boy must be the new Eminem, at least visually. Adding to a now growing list of artists who are all going the route of dying their hair blonde, rapper Soulja Boy is the latest to join the fray. Earlier today SODMG founder revamped his Twitter page revealing a photo of his wavy hair with a golden brown hue, a stark contrast from his jet black hair. There’s been no indication what trick SB may have up his sleeve that led to the coloration but it’s a safe bet his audience will have no shortage of words over his latest look. (Rapfix)
Last month, Young Money’s Tyga bleached his entire head a brownish blond shade.
Following in the footsteps of fellow musician/ collaborator Chris Brown, Young Money’s Tyga went and switched up his hair color and dyed his hair light brown. We’re not sure what the inspiration behind the change was but tell us, are you feeling his new look? (VIBE)
Going back and forth, Chris Brown made a return to his blond look for a birthday celebration in early May.
Chris Brown partied the night away with the first of two planned birthday bashes at Club Play in Miami on Friday night (May 6). The bottles were poppin’ and the club was jam-packed with some of his celebrity pals including “Look at Me Now” collaborator Lil Wayne, Trina, Mack Maine, and Roscoe Dash. The back-to-blond singer, who turned 22 last week, bared his tatted chest from a balcony as he blew out the candles on his F.A.M.E.-decorated cake. (Rap-Up)
After calling out blond posers on Twitter last April, New Orleans rapper Curren$y hit up SOHH to elaborate on spotting swagger jackers as of late.
“Wiz’s cool because nobody else was wearing blonde streaks in their hair,” Curren$y told SOHH. “I encountered a person yesterday who was [rocking the hairdo] and I was like, ‘Now that’s not right’. I had to point them out. But I didn’t call this guy out, [my] homegirl called him out. He walked up to me and was like, ‘Yo, what’s up?’ and it was heartbreaking because this girl was like, ‘Yo, does he have a f*cking [hairdo] like your friend has?’ And I was like, ‘Ah man, yeah, he does!’ It was crazy. It’s not something you see on the homies, except for maybe [producer] Kwame. Kwame can get away if he’s wearing one because he’s the one who made that shit up.”
