South Beach, FL. – In the midst of the release of his third album in just 16 months, promoters and labels rush together to organize Plies’ album release party all in conjunction to provide fans the ability to watch their favorite artist perform and the same time celebrate the release of ‘Da Realist.’ Last night (December 21), Club Mansion hosted what should have been a huge success, somewhere down the line it didn’t go the way it was planned.

Somewhere around midnight, media arrived gathered around the red carpet awaiting the arrival of artists, celebrities, and the man of the hour, Plies. Anybody would assume that the artist whose name is on the sign above the club would have arrived at a more understandable time in courtesy of the fans and the media. Apparently that wasn’t the case, Plies didn’t arrive, from what club patrons told me, ‘til around 3am. However, before his arrival Miami based icons, Ballgreezy and Triple Cs hit the stage opening for Plies.

Greezy was greeted with an enormous reaction from the crowd as he commenced with his third single ‘Where They Do Dat At?’ The fans cheered with amusement. He continued on omitting his smash hit featuring the Opa Locka Goon, ‘I’m the Shit.’ The fans responded with the completion of the song all on their own. Triple Cs, Gunplay and Torch stepped to the stage as soon as Greezy completed his set and stayed to the side. The infamous Carol City Cartel proceeded into their latest single ‘Skrate Yams’ providing the club with some new sounds before getting into what they were known for.

Now here’s the kicker, Plies was on stage nearly around 3:15am. It was expected that the crowd rush the stage, as they anticipated his arrival. He began performing a few tracks from his older albums before gesturing to the crowd, ‘You know how I do in the 305’ and then commenced into DJ Khaled’s ‘Out Here Grindin’. Plies then allowed time to speak to crowd before getting into his new tracks. How about 7 minutes into his new tracks, the sound cut off? Plies and his crew somehow rushed off the stage leaving the crowd bewildered and confused. Somebody from the Mansion staff came to the front and basically told everyone to go home in a rude tone; the crowd took it as a joke and chanted for Ballgreezy to do an encore as he stepped to the front of the stage.

To my understanding, it seemed like Plies wasn’t really feeling the club or the environment as he didn’t even walk through the Red Carpet.
