Pembroke Pines, FL. – As the year comes to a close, parties and live performances are being thrown together left and right. As it is common around the Christmas and the New Year’s, something for the people to indulge. This time around it Miami’s own party radio station, Power 96 hosted one of the biggest events in South Florida. It all went down Tuesday night (December 16) at the prominent Café Iguanas in Pembroke Pines. The lineup was just utterly crazy as they put together a list of artists that practically rocked a crowd of excited mixed fans. People began arriving as early as 9pm, due to the pure fact that the live performances began as early as 10pm. The roster was quite extensive, so the schedule had to be precise on the artist’s part to fill their time slot. Throughout the night Power 96 DJs kept the crowd hype as some performers bought their own DJs to play their tracks. Alongside the artists, a plethora of celebrities and non- performing artists were also in attendance, including a mixture of 99 Jamz personalities as well.

Miami based rap group, Grind Mode, was the first to hit the stage, they performed both their hit singles, ‘I’m So High’ and ‘Ecstasy.’ They rocked off the party and provided a great performance for the fans to enjoy. Minutes later, R&B newcomer Casely graced the stage and provided a dance set as well as a serenade to the ladies as he played the keyboard on stage to his hit single ‘Emotional.’ The crowd responded quite well to his performance as he filled his time slot immaculately. Soon after, Miami old school icon, JT Money hit the stage and provided a set of his classic hits from back in the days, songs that jogged our memory from our times when we were younger. JT’s last song to end his set was a new joint that he’s been pushing for the release of his new studio album, the track entitled ‘Bottom Bitch,’ which featured R&B superstar Pleasure P. It was a great response amongst the crowd of excited fans. That last track then transitioned into Pleasure P’s set where the crowd began getting larger as Pleasure performed the hits that made him famous with Pretty Ricky. Those hits included, ‘Grind with Me,’ ‘Your Body,’ and ‘Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number’ before he started getting into his own songs. Pleasure even thought to include a sort of Grind-a-thon for the females to come on stage and grind with him before getting into his ‘I Did You Wrong’ hit single.

As the intermission allowed time for the club goers to buy more drinks, the new set was about to perform. R&B artists Keri Hilson and Jazmine Sullivan definitely rocked the stage as they both performed their hit singles respectively livening the crowd to higher extent. Between songs like ‘The Way I Are’ and ‘Bust Your Windows,’ the crowd followed along to a niche. As the night moved along its course, it was finally time for Power 96 morning show personality, DJ Laz to hit the stage and perform his set for his loyal and anticipated fans. Laz provided the Latin and the Reggaeton, the missing element in a club filled with Hispanics. He performed his set including old school tracks like ‘Morena’ before playing his hit single ‘Move, Shake, and Drop.’ Laz’ performance led into the introduction of reggae superstar Kevin Little. Now it’s been a minute since we heard his last single, but it was quite interesting to see it performed live as he threw roses into the crowd for the ladies in his set. His last track was even a new joint that featured Flo Rida as he paid homage to Flo, the Poe Boy family, and Power 96.

It was finally time for the main headliners to grace the stage, a whole label was in the building ready to perform to crowd of extremely excited fans waiting on the arrivals of the Boss Ricky Ross, the Low originator Flo Rida, the Opa Locka Goon Brisco, and North Miami’s own Billy Blue. Brisco was the first on stage as he began his set introducing himself to the audience before getting into ‘Bitch, I’m Me.’ He continued on performing his next hit single ‘Just Know Dat’ before transitioning into his feature song with his label brethren Billy Blue. The dynamic duo’s ‘Get Like Me’ single rocked the crowd providing a higher energy level for the intro of Flo Rida. His set included ‘Elevator,’ ‘Low,’ and some new joints from his upcoming sophomore LP, the R.O.O.T.S. This all paved way for the first headliner to grace the stage, the crowd was awaiting this artist to step to the front, the Boss himself stepped to the front and crowd energy rose even higher. Triple C joined in on the performance adding to a higher level of anticipation. At the same time, Ross even introduced special guests Masspike Miles and Ace Hood.

All in all, the event was a huge success as Busta Rhymes carried the performance into a grand finale. Power 96 put together a great show and I’m quite sure the fans will be talking about it for a while.
