It’s official. l Aubrey Louis Berry who was charged with the
murder of up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Dolla has been acquitted.

Dolla who was on his way to becoming a successful rapper was shot
last year at the Beverly Center Mall in L.A. last year. MTV News is reporting
that lawyers for Berry received the acquittal after claiming that he shot in
self defense.

The prosecution insisted that Dolla whose
real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II was gunned down by an act of vengeance
but a Los Angeles jury did not agree.

The Burton family spokesperson disputed the
argument of self defense because Berry allegedly traveled from Atlanta with a loaded
gun and did not obtain a permit for the weapon in California.

Berry’s attorney, Howard K. Price, pressed
that Dolla previously threatened his client previously at an Atlanta night
club.

Berry, who has been in jail ever since is
now a free man.
