The album, which dropped last week, is packaged with
a unique type of software called UmixIt. It allows fans to experiment with their
production and remixing skills. With the program you can add samples, play instruments,
and even throw your own verse in the mix. You can even save your remixes as
downloadable files. “As a producer and artist, I’ve had the chance to work with
the most talented hip hop artists in the business,” said David Banner via a
statement. “What I love about UmixIt is the chance to let others share the magic
of making music.” Banner’s Certified debuted at No. 6 on this week’s Billboard
200 albums chart, selling 89,000 copies.

In other Banner news, the Mississippi native is one of a few emcees who are
getting into the cartoon game. Banner is currently working on an animated series
for the Cartoon Network. Details on the show are sketchy, but it said to be
based in the rapper’s home state of Mississippi and will tackle issues like
racism with a humorous slant.
