Remy Ma and Safaree are apparently being sued due to breaking some simple rules. A foundation in Chicago that mentors children is suing the rappers stating they were supposed to perform at a fundraising event on April 21, 2018. According to records, the foundation was forced to cancel the concert due to them breaking their contract. The contract stated Remy and Safaree were not allowed to perform within 60 miles of the arena for 30 days before the actual event. This is called “Performance Exclusivity”. They do this to make sure their event stays trending.
The foundation is saying both rappers agreed and signed the contract giving Safaree a $7,250 payment and Remy a 35k deposit. Unfortunately, “The Circle Foundation” asked for their money back and never heard a response from either side. According to legal records, Safaree was at the Rockin’ Horse Saloon & Grill on April 14 in Chicago and Remy performed on April 8 at the Black Women’s Expo hence breaching their contracts. Remy’s lawyer say’s she was “unaware of any purported legal action filed but, if such action is initiated she will respond accordingly.”
