Shreveport, LA – Miami-based rapper, Rick Ross, was arrested in Shreveport, Louisiana on Friday night (March 25) for the possession of marijuana. The Boss was apparently in town to perform at a nightclub.

According to reports, the hotel staff alerted authorities when they smelled a strong odor coming from Ross’ hotel room. When Shreveport police arrived to the hotel and entered the rapper’s room, they spotted a “gram of marijuana in plain view.”  

Ross has since been released on a misdemeanor charge with a summons to return to a Shreveport court at a later date.

The CEO of his rising Maybach Music Group recently signed a deal with Warner Bros. for all distribution.

In related news, Jason Peters, offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, was also arrested in Shreveport that same night on a totally separate incident in another part of the city. According to reports, when authorities asked him to turn down the loud music in his car, he refused, when they finally asked for identification several times, he also refused. Peters was apprehended for a loud music violation and resisting an officer. It was become apparent that he was in town as a special guest to the same nightclub that Ross was supposed to perform at.
