Giving a different look to the recent feud between himself and 50 Cent, Rick Ross recently spoke to the BET’s gospel-based program “Lift Every Voice” about how religion has played a role in the entire rap beef as well as the unseen reasons for the verbal and personal attacks on 50.  He told the show:

“If you think you making real rap, you gotta talk about God,” Ross said in an interview. “That’s who I give credit or my prosperity to because I feel like I was rapping for over ten years and if nothing ever happened for me, it was something I would have had to live with..Coming from where I come from, seeing what I seen to having a number one album I had told myself at one point no matter what I go through, I’ll never question God…I pray for forgiveness in a lot of these areas. When it come to the 50 Cent situation, I pray for the best and most definitely on a serious note, it could become, uhm, physical. It could become life-threatening, you never know, you understand? But I keep a positive outlook on it and I focus on the business aspect, you know, versus the negative…I’m a person that’s done some wrong things in my time and I beg for forgiveness everyday…Sometimes you gotta be the bigger person, be the boss, a lot of times it could be beneficial…One of the reasons I challenged 50 Cent in the first place was to show my faith, show the world my courage, regardless if you got $200 million and I got $2 million, it ain’t about money.”

Some may wonder if this recent statement has proved to truly be the end of the long, drawn, puerile and simply unnecessary feud. Has God caused these two to see the light? According to DJ Whoo Kid, an associate of G-Unit was recently quoted saying that 50 is over this online beef with Rick Ross.

According to MTV Kid had this to say:

“50’s done ten freestyles,” he explained in an interview. “I’m waiting on like, two more. I guess he’s trying to figure out the title. And I’ve been doing a lot of those Radio Planet videos, so I’m gonna put together a RadioPlanet.TV 50 Cent video. Those are my video mixtapes I’ve been putting out, killing the Web waves…The Rick Ross sh*t is outta here. It’s over, he’s done his promo, 50 promoted his album very well, so Rick Ross is outta here. Now he’s worried about his own sh*t. They got the Tia [Kemp] book out there. That should be the last level of anything that has anything to do with Rick Ross.”

So could it be true? Is this truly the end of all this nonsense? Hopefully so! Honestly I think it’s the people in both 50 and Ross’ camp that keep prolonging this feud and not actually themselves. If everyone else would just let it go and move on, then these two rappers could do the same. Everyone wants to keep fueling the fire so that they can stay in the spotlight for a little bit longer. I’m not a fan of people claiming religion with hypocrisy but if Ross is truly looking at the more spiritual side of things, I can definitely appreciate that. I wonder if he and 50 will get together and do a gospel track like Diddy?

Stay tuned for the next episode, if any!

T.I. Says Goodbye To Fans

As a final farewell to his fans, Rapper T.I. reportedly just performed a concert over the weekend preceding his 366 day prison sentence. According to the Associated Press, T.I told fans he would remain optimistic when heading to prison.

“T.I. told fans he would stay optimistic when he heads to prison on a federal weapons conviction. The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., performed for a packed audience Sunday (May 24) night in Atlanta’s Philips Arena less than two days before he is to begin serving the sentence of a year and a day. “I’m going to stand up tall, head up high,” he said. “Thank you for all of your support.” Many in the packed crowd held up encouraging signs, like one reading “T.I. We Will Miss U!”

This concert took place in Atlanta’s Phillips Arena and was reportedly filled with thousands of fans who wanted to see the rapper off.  KXMB News stated:

“Talk about your farewell concerts. T.I. performed in Atlanta last night less than two days before he must report to prison to start serving a federal weapons conviction. The rapper told the audience of about 16,000 at Philips Arena: “I’ll see y’all in 366 days.” It’s that period a year and a day he has to serve after his guilty plea to charges of trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from federal undercover agents in 2007.”

T.I recently requested a two-week prison delay but was denied. The rapper is set to report to prison today by noon. He will most likely serve a little over a ten month sentence. Good look to you T.I!
