Rick Ross has definitely been pulling his weight around as of late, showcasing why he’s the Boss at what he does. Ross didn’t waste any time, after inking a distribution between his Maybach Music imprint and Warner distribution, he quickly jumped to the occasion of releasing a label compilation entitled ‘Self Made.’

With his new signees on board and ready to shine, Ross speaks very highly of Wale, Pill, and Meek Mill. Recently in an interview with MTV News, he broke down his reasoning behind signing all three emcees, one by one.

These were his comments:

“Just me being a fan of Wale’s lyrics, he’s a lyricist, he’s a fly dude, I feel like he’s gonna make a really huge impact over the next few years.”

Ross even added comments about the recent XXL 2011 freshman nominee, Meek Mill:

“Meek Mill, I feel he’s speaking for the streets, he’s fillin’ the void comin’ from Philly. I think this was something that was well overdue and most definitely needed. The reaction of his music is speakin’ for itself.”

Maybach’s most recent signee ATL’s Pill added that initial flare to the imprint that Ross is quite proud of. These were his comments on Pill:

“Pill, he’s been representin’ in the A-Town forever, just being a deep thinker and dope a street lyricist at the same time. So that was somethin’ that I was just vibin’ and attracted to.”

At press time, Maybach Music Group’s compilation ‘Self Made’ has been set to hit stores and online officially on May 24.
