New York, NY – For the past several weeks Miami rapper, Rick Ross has been receiving a huge amounts of backlash from protestors and the media over his rape lyric on Rocko’s ‘U.O.E.N.O.’ Last week after countless requests from protestors, Reebok made the decision to drop Ross from his endorsement with them and that decision eventually went public.

Rocko recently spoke on the matter about Rick Ross with MTV News. These were his comments:

“I don’t think that was fair. Not to name drop, but there are several artists that said things in their lyrics way, way, way worse than that. I’ve heard lyrics [about] burning down houses and throwing people off of bridges and killing your wife and your whole family,” he continued. “I’ve heard all types of stuff and it wasn’t scrutinized like this [Ross lyric]. It didn’t have the type of scrutiny that this has, this one line.”

He continued on to comment about the Reebok aftermath:

“As far as the Reebok thing, I don’t think that was fair because what he brought to Reebok. People in my neighborhood, in my city, they’re back wearing Reeboks. It was a cardinal sin to wear Reebok before Ross started promoting ’em. Ross stepped in and he branded ’em and he got the urban market back in to ’em.”

He concluded with these comments defending the ‘big homey’ Ross:

“Everybody knows that the big homey don’t have to rape anybody,” said “He don’t have to do that. He’s having paper, he got [millions of dollars], why would he have to do that? So for people to really take it and run with that, I don’t think that’s fair.”

At press time, Rocko will continue to release a slew of ‘U.O.E.N.O.’ remixes over the course of the next five weeks, however not one will feature Ross. This past Thursday (April 11), he released the first remix to ‘U.O.E.N.O’ featuring Wiz Khalifa and Future.
