It’s been more then 20 years since the debut of Spike Lee “Classic” movie “Do The Right Thing” and it still remains one of the most important and controversial films of it’s time. The film embodied Spike Lee’s hometown of Brooklyn,NY at it’s best with each character in the movie and helped “Do The Right Thing” become a landmark film and most talked about film all over the world. Spike took every day issues that were going on in our black neighborhoods and brought them to life on film for the world to see. Hollywood definitely had to take notice to the up and coming movie Director from Brooklyn,NY with Lee writing the screenplay, producing, and even starring in the film as well. The movie also was powered by Public Enemy’s hit record “Fight the Power” which was shot in Brooklyn,NY and I personally remember the day it took place as I walked over to the set to be in the video(lol). It’s rumored that the film is even credited for bringing President Barack Obama and the First Lady together on their first date! The book is now available now online at Amazon.com and you should check your local bookstores as well, this book should be a great read.
