The latest news with the murder of rapper Dolla is all surrounding the suspect at this moment. According to the Access Atlanta, Aubrey Louis Berry appeared in a California courtroom on Tuesday May, 26, 2009 and had his bail lowered. Apparently the bail was once set to a whopping 5$ million.

“A judge has lowered bail for a Snellville man accused of murdering Atlanta rapper Dolla at a Los Angeles shopping mall. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Terry Bork reduced Aubrey Louis Berry’s bail to $2.1 million from $5 million on Tuesday.”

For those who didn’t know, according to Fox News, Berry appeared in court last Thursday, May 21, 2009 where his bail was raised to $5million dollars.

“An Atlanta man accused of gunning down a rapper at the Beverly Center hours after the musician arrived in Los Angeles to work on his first CD pleaded not guilty today to murder and assault charges. Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Kristi Lousteau ordered Berry to remain jailed in lieu of $5 million bail pending a bail review hearing next Tuesday. A date is also expected to be set then for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require Berry to stand trial. Outside court, defense attorney Howard R. Price told reporters that he will be asking for bail to be set at “no more than $1 million.”

However, according to MyFox LA, Berry’s attorney Howard Price pleaded to reduce the bail to $1million.

“In arguing for his client’s bail to be lowered, the defense attorney told the judge that his client is a college graduate with no prior arrests who fired in self-defense because he believed the rapper — with whom he had recently had a confrontation at an Atlanta nightclub — was trying to get a gun after following him out to the valet parking area. Berry’s attorney, who has repeatedly said the shooting is not a case of murder, called it a “terrible coincidence” that the the two men wound up at the same time at P.F. Chang’s China Bistro. Price said his client was “distraught” and “scared” after the shooting and “made the mistake of going to the airport” where he was arrested with a gun”

Needless to say, that reduction probably won’t help out very much. Berry recently added a not guilty plea and Dolla’s family was not happy about it. They had this to say on MTV:

“There are three victims in this case, none of which is Aubrey Berry,” the statement read, adding that they were upset by the claim. “His claim of self-defense is very colorful but the fact is that he traveled from Atlanta with a loaded firearm for which he didn’t possess a carry permit for in the state of California and then he assassinates Mr. Burton and attempts to shoot his cousin Will and his friend DJ Shabazz. Dolla was doing what he normally does, and that is to come to town and record in the studio and visit his family. He has been a recording artist for many years and being a member of any gang is as far-fetched as Mr. Berry’s claim of self-defense. [Berry’s attorney Howard] Price is attempting to argue his client’s case in the media but the courtroom is where this matter will be dealt with.”

T.I. Finally Marries Tiny

After many rumors have surfaced about T.I. allegedly marrying his longtime girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, an unrevealed source has confirmed this to be true. T.I. and Tameka, who is formerly a member of the hot R&B girl group Xscape, have been dating since 2001 and have two children together.

According to the Urban Daily, this source said the wedding took place on an island off the coast of Miami. The couple eluded the media by covering up the wedding as a simple family vacation before T.I. was set to be imprisoned.

“It’s been a crazy situation around here with all that has been taking place,” a source explained to The Urban Daily. “In regards to Tiny and T.I., yes they are officially husband and wife. It recently took place in a very private ceremony with only members of the immediate family and certain members of the Grand Hustle family.”
