Nearly four years after the fatal shooting and murder of T.I.’s friend and assistant Philant Johnson; the case comes to a shocking turning point.  The man responsible for this tragic murder has just confessed to his role in the shoot-out.  Pardon Thomas pled guilty to multiple charges which included manslaughter and assault. Cincinnati News reports:

“Padron Thomas, 41, pleaded guilty Wednesday to manslaughter, tampering with evidence and five counts of felonious assault. Thomas admitted he was driving a vehicle north on Interstate 75 in a May 3, 2006, incident when his younger brother, Hosea Thomas, fired several shots into vans carrying TI and his friends. The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, wasn’t hit but his friend Philant “Big Phil” Johnson was killed and three others wounded. The official sentencing date is Nov. 17 but the judge indicated Wednesday he will impose the 10-year sentence and allow it to run at the same time as Thomas’ federal prison sentence. Hosea Thomas was upset he’d been hit in the head with a bottle at a Roselawn party attended by TI and his posse following a concert. Enraged, he got in the vehicle and the brothers chased the rapper’s van up the interstate before Hosea Thomas opened fire. Hosea Thomas is eligible for parole in 2074 when he is 100 years old.”

According to MTV:

“Opening statements began earlier this week as jury members were told Cincinnati local Thomas was responsible for the murder. Hosea’s brother, Padron, who was also involved in the shoot-out, stepped forward to testify against him. He now faces no prison time for his role in the murder of Johnson.”

Damn homie, you and your brother about to be cell mates for a long time.  Obviously this fool thought that snitching on his brother was going to get him off the hook. Unfortunately that didn’t happen because either though he testified against his brother, according to MTV he was still given nearly 20 years of hard time. So perhaps you guys won’t be cell mates. I’m guessing he’s probably a little perturbed with you at the moment.  No buddy system for you!

I wonder if T.I. will make a statement about this. So far, no other details have been released. We will keep you updated!

Cormega’s Statements About Drake Taken Out Of Context?

Recently Cormega has gone on record about his alleged “Drake Diss.” On his LegalHustle.net message board he explained that he never dissed Drake and that his words were edited and that he feels like he was misrepresented.
HipHopDX reports:

“On his LegalHustle.net message board Cormega wrote, “I NEVER DISSED HIM that shit is edited and taken out of context.” The emcee went on to state that his problem’s were not specifically with Drake but with the idea of,  as he called it, “good kids or the richs [sic] or kids from good backgrounds” rapping about street life. He continued to reiterate these sentiments in an interview with XXL. Once again, asked about Drake Cormega expanded a little bit on why he what he sees as unauthentic lyrics as detrimental to Hip Hop: “I’m just saying what’s wrong with Rap. Everybody is glorifying the stupidity, they’re glorifying the derogatory treatment of women, everything derogatory is being highlighted and used to market Hip Hop. And that’s what I am against.” He goes on to use Will Smith as a positive example of someone rapping about what they know.”

Now I have to agree with Cormega regarding the state of Hip-Hop. We all know that 2009 has become the year of the bubble gum, candy  RAPPER.  Honestly I’m fed up with it myself. However, even if taken out of context, you still used Drake as an example of what you despise. Thus you despise Drake. But hey I can’t hate it, I’m there with you. Perhaps if more people were as outspoken about the b*llsh*t going on in Hip-Hop we could rid the game of this nonsense.

Well, Drake has yet to make a statement regarding this situation so I’m guessing he could care less and neither do I. Let’s move on, It is what it is.
