Well we all knew it would happen, T-Pain has finally spoken out on Jay-Z’s very controversial song “Death of Autotune.” This song has caused so many mixed reactions from the song including Jim Jones and Fabolous both speaking out about it.  According to SOHH, Fab basically declared the Autotune trend over and done because of Jay stating:

“Jay-Z is like the so to say trend killer if he states that something is done,” said Fab. “Certain people may feel that way but never say it…but Jay, he’ll take the stand and everybody be feelin’ that way and be like, ‘Yeah Jay’s a hero for saying what we’ve been feeling.’ I think what Jay is trying to do is help people get back to the talent of rapping. Let’s get some artistry back in the music, some good writing. I think ‘Death of Autotune’ is dope. I think it’s good for the climate too. At some point a lot of these kids, artists are coming out and they’re just putting this autotune on their voice… I guess Jay is just tired of everybody jumping on that bandwagon. I kinda was over it too.”

Jim Jones, of Byrd Gang, obviously didn’t feel the same stating on 106 & Park:

“We’re getting money off of autotune, it’s just sounding like somebody’s trying to knock a hustle and I don’t think that’s a little bit gangster if you ask me,” Jones explained. “We getting money. He’s knocking the hustle, ya dig? If these young men are making money off of autotune why would you try to stop that, when you got all the money already? I seen him [at Summer Jam], I don’ think he wanted to see me. He almost stopped the whole concert because he said I was in the way of him getting on stage and all of that. But that’s politics for the game, ya dig? How you doing? We back, we ballin’, we poppin’ champagne.”

As far at T-Pain is concerned, he claims to be more motivated than ever to use Autotune, even increasing his usage of the program. Talk about motivation; because of the DOA song, Pain has decided to prepare for his next album much sooner than expected. He told MTV:

“The album just got pushed up,” Pain said in an interview earlier this week. “It was gonna come out September next year. [The record label], they’re making me come out November this year. It makes the label look straight. I was gonna chill, because it was so many people that do what I do — now Jay-Z  done dropped the ‘Death of Autotune’ and it’s time for me to come back…Oh yeah [I’m still using it]. Definitely now. Jay-Z said something…I gotta do it now. It’s nothing outta the ordinary, so I’m ready.”

It seems like everyone has their own issues or concerns about the song but Jay recently spoke out justifying the song’s message on The Angie Martinez Show:

“I’m not saying autotune is wack,” Jay told radio personality Angie Martinez earlier this week. “I’m not saying that, I just put a soundtrack to it, I put a voice to it. If people wasn’t feeling this way then the record wouldn’t work the way it would…The culture is bigger than the politics.”

I’m obliged to agree with Jay on this one. We all know how I feel about this whole Autotune from my recent Honest Truth Editorial, however all personal opinions aside; the truth of the entire matter is that you only holler when your toes are being stepped on.

Well good luck to you T-Pain and your beautiful wife Autotune!

Scott Storch Speaks Out About His Financial Downfall

Finally, after many reports of financial burden, Scott Storch himself has decided to speak out about it. Recently the Miami bred hitmaker sat down with MTV reflecting on his career, speaking on his battle with drugs and how he managed to lose a whopping $30 million or more in just six months.

“The cost of the drug didn’t affect my life,” he explained in an interview. “It was the poor decisions I made, that were so poor financially, that caused me to go into this situation where I was forced to change my lifestyle…forced to change a lot of things. [I had] 15 to 20 cars at all times…That’s not smart. I would take one of 15 half-million-dollar cars I owned and go to the mall and spend that much money. Stupid, stupid stuff. It’s like it didn’t make a difference. They were ego investments. I would have been great with three or four cars! I didn’t need a 117-foot boat…I watched my own father, he went bankrupt and had problems with the IRS. He was living beyond his means, and I guess I was doing the same thing and not even realizing it.”

After his financial records leaked out late last month things just didn’t get any better as he was ordered to pay film producer Matt Sinnreich, $750,000 for a breach of contract. According to The Miami Herald:

“Matt Sinnreich paid Storch $25,000 for 25 percent of the corporation. But Storch, 35, ”failed to form the corporation . . . and failed to return the $25,000.” Storch failed to respond to the complaint and Circuit Judge Ronald Friedman granted Sinnreich’s motion for default last December. Jurors recently decided the question of damages, rendering the $750,000 verdict, says Sinnreich’s attorney Marc Brumer. Sinnreich is trying to collect on the judgment but Storch, once reported to be worth $70 million, has had money woes. He fell behind in child support and owes $722,906.19 in taxes on his $10.5 million mansion on Miami Beach’s Palm Island. In March, SunTrust obtained a judgment of foreclosure for $8,484,835.67. The property sale is set for June 26.”

Like they say, one day you’re up, the next you’re down. I think Storch proves this statement to be truer than ever. Hopefully he will get everything together and make a stunning comeback.
