New York, NY – Despite all the constant delays due to premature album leaks that were circulating all across the net, the two and half year in the works third installment to his Carter series was finally released earlier this week. Even though, it was reported that the album officially leaked two weeks prior to the release date, the heir to the Cash Money throne is still apparently marking his quota on the sales portion of his most anticipated album of the year. It was quite obvious that fans were impatiently awaiting the arrival of ‘Tha Carter III,’as some managed to get their hands on a leaked copy of the official album.

Well, those leaks didn’t seem to harm Lil Wayne’s album sales one bit as he ranked in a total of 423,000 units sold the first day alone. So far, soundscan has reported ‘Tha Carter III’ to have sold over 900,000 units within the first couple of the days. Keep in mind that at 900,000 units, he has already surpassed Gold and with Tuesday just around the corner, it has been predicted that his album reach Platinum status at the closing of the first week. Speculators and fans alike have already forecasted this outcome months before the album was to be released, it was evident that the conclusion to his trilogy would set records as his numbers have already posted the best sales debut of the year.

With ‘Tha Carter III’ release already behind us, Lil Wayne has catapulted himself to legendary status. As of right now, he has the industry in a chokehold, surpassing the opening week sales of 50 Cent, Kanye West, and Mariah Carey. Wayne has already announced to several media outlets about the next possible projects he will be working on including an R&B album to be later released entitled ‘Luv Sawngz.’ He also scheduled future recording sessions to do collaboration albums, mimicking that of Jay-Z and R. Kelly, with the ‘Best of’ albums. One with Lloyd entitled ‘The Best of Young Worlds’ and another with T-Pain entitled ‘The Best of Both Worlds.’ With the future ahead looking real prosperous for Lil Wayne, it goes without saying, ‘the Sky must be the limit.’
