GIEL put on a ’50’s-style Cotton Club show, very different from her other performances in the past year. She deserves credit for evolving and sticking to music that everyone can attach him or herself to—the return of something new. As a mainstay on urban contemporary, pop and adult-contemporary radio almost since her debut a year ago, (Her rendition of Kevin Lytle song "Turn Me On"); she could easily just keep playing her hits. But GIEL‘s, in exceptional voice, skillfully melded her material with a touch of Jazz and R&B states, GIEL has paved her way in this music industry as THE PRINCESS OF SOUL.
The Poetic minds on Mello Monday’s actually cheered when — two songs in — she finally stood up and walked right into stardom "A Real Singer Finally", said Dune of the Last Poets as he was in the house for a special appearance. But surely those applauding felt rewarded at the end of her 15-minute set, when her fans stood still to see the salvations of a star. It can only get better. Being booked for up coming shows has landed her in demand…discovering an outlet for new renditions of music to suite and soothes the hearts of many.
GIEL will be performing live this Saturday, April 22nd, 2006, at The VIP Glass Room of Nocturnal. Located at 50 NE 11th Street, Downtown Miami. If you missed her last performances, now is the time to play catch-up, you can watch and see her sing "Battered Queen", the soul food for a woman’s heart: The VIP Glass Room of Nocturnal.
