T.I. is wasting no time getting back into the swing of things with his music. He has reportedly been back in the studio, putting together a new album to be released sometime in 2010. That’s great news for all of the T.I. fans out there who have been anxiously awaiting his return! According to producer Jim Jonsin, T.I. will have a follow up to his 2008 album Paper Trail.
“It doesn’t seem like he missed a beat,” Jonsin said in an interview. “He was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he’s excited to be out and working. He hasn’t changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in. He’s back in the studio. I sent him some music via email. He can work during the week and not on the weekend, I believe. He’s definitely working on an album for this year right now.”
Not sure about everyone else, but I am definitely anticipating this one! Let’s see if the “King” can regain his thrown.
Ja Rule Appears in Court for Weapons Possession Case
Joining the list of potential celebrity bookies is none other than former Murder Inc. rapper, Ja Rule. Yesterday, Ja appeared in a New York courtroom on a weapons-possession case that stems back from 2007 when he was caught with a loaded gun found in his car. Ja tried his best to plead that the gun was found during an unjustified police stop following a concert. Obviously the judge was not having it because his claim was disregarded.
ABC News says:
“A judge said “no” Wednesday to the argument by the platinum-selling artist’s that the gun was found during an unjustified police stop of his Maybach sports car after a July 2007 concert. Prosecutors say the stop was warranted because the car had no insurance and a suspended registration. The judge did throw out another piece of evidence: the rapper’s statement to police that he had a bit of marijuana in his pocket. He isn’t charged with drug possession.”
Well, at least you can knock off a few years for the drugs. But Ja, if this court stint is just your way of trying to get back to the top like your fellow rappers T.I. and Lil Wayne, stop it. You only get heavy media coverage if people ACTUALLY liked you prior to being imprisoned. Free yourself!
Stevie Wonder/Robin Thicke Collaboration
Stevie Wonder and Robin Thicke on the same track?!?!? You know there’s about to be something great stemming from them! According to Robin, a collaboration between the two is definitely in the works. In an interview on the Steve Harvey Morning Show, Stevie spoke about how he wanted to do a song on Thicke’s Sex Therapy album and that he had a song perfect for it. He even joked about a Sex Therapy part two. But we all know Thicke ain’t a fool; of course he accepted the invitation, even promising that the song would be on the next album. So could this be the hottest R&B record in the making? Who knows, but I think they’re gonna have to put out a WHOLE new line of birth control after this hot collaboration!
