Fans
who have fantasized about catching the self-proclaimed “inventor of
sex” up close and personal are in luck: Trey Songz is coming to a city
near you, as he hits the road this summer for his Passion, Pain &
Pleasure
Tour. The nationwide tour — named for his upcoming album — kicks
off on August 6 in Shreveport, Louisiana, and wraps up in New York City on
September 17. Fellow soul star Monica will join the crooner on the road.

Songz’s
success has exploded since the release of his hit album Ready, which
spawned burners like “Say Aah” and “Successful.” Earlier
this year, he rocked as an opening act on Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 Tour and
even found time for Hov’s homie President Obama, visiting the commander in
chief at the White House, along with Jigga and Beyoncé.

More
recently, the singer performed his own “MTV Unplugged” special, where
he left the mostly female crowd squealing — a feat he managed again during his
set at this month’s Hot 97 Summer Jam concert in New Jersey. (According to the
tour press release, Songz has also filmed a BET docu-series titled “My
Moment.”)

The
“Successful” singer said concertgoers will not only be treated to
intimate performances, but they’ll also get to hear him debut new material. The
tour “is not just another show; it will be an up close and personal
experience for everyone,” Songz said in a press release issued by his
label, Atlantic. “Come see me perform your favorite songs live and hear
new music from my upcoming album, Passion, Pain, & Pleasure, for the
first time.”

“Trey
and I are dedicated to making sure that each night is an experience that is
fulfilling to the heart and soul,” Monica added in the release.

In
addition, the singer’s September 12 show at Club Nokia in Los Angeles will be
filmed by MTV to be broadcast later this year.
