Trey Songz was arrested yesterday down in Atlanta. His mother, Mama Songz, wrote me a letter. Here it is:

“As many of you may know by now, my son, Trey was a victim of excessive force by a member of the Clark/Atlanta campus police! It is with mixed emotions that I come to you to thank you all for your witness statements, kind words, thought & prayers for Trey during this difficult time. We have had contact with him & he is okay. He is being held overnight for obstruction of justice & disorderly conduct for merely refusing to get out of the passenger seat of a car! I can’t even fathom that these fraudulent charges will stand up in a court of law! Again, as always thanks for your continued support!”

Much love,

Mama Songz

Read this witness account of what happened:
“Trey Songz was arrested today on Clark Atlanta University’s campus. I was there and I saw it first hand. Trey and a two other people were stopped in a black truck on the promenade of CAU’s campus. One police officer pulled in front and the other on the side. They took the driver out and Trey was the passenger. One officer continued to speak to the driver and the other proceeded to talk to Trey. Some words were exchanged but I couldn’t here what the police officer or Trey was saying but I know it had something to do with Trey not wanting to get out of the truck. The police officer then opened the door and pulled Trey out. Trey stumbled to catch his balance. As he tried to catch his balance the officer pushed (smashed) his face into the ground causing him to scrape his chin! The officer then handcuffed him and picked him up and threw him on the trunk of the police car. Soon after he opened the door to the police car and that was the end!”
