Troy Ave was released from jail on a $500,000 bail early Monday (July 11th,2016), according to sources, It’s said that the money came from his mother’s Brooklyn home.
Ave was arrested after a shooting transpired at T.I.’s show in New York City in late May. Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, a friend of Troy Ave’s, was killed during the incident, while three other individuals, one being Troy Ave, were injured and subsequently hospitalized. Ave has denied any involvement in the fatal shooting.
The rappers release comes just over a month after he was arrested on attempted murder charges, which stemmed from a surveillance footage showing the artist discharging a black firearm near the VIP area at the concert.
Though there are conditions to his bail , Troy Ave must to wear an ankle bracelet and is not allowed to leave the city. He also will not be allowed to be around any festival , concert, bar, or any place where there is liquor and a mass gathering of people.
Ave’s attorney, John Stella, says that because of these rules it will result in the rapper missing multiple venues he was contracted to perform.
Joshua Steinglass who is the New York Assistant District Attorney made it very clear that Ave is safe yet.
“What is clear is that the investigation from the outset has been hampered by the defendant who not only fired and removed the weapon from the crime scene, he refused to help in any way [to identify] who killed McPhatter,” Steinglass said.
His lawyer also said Ave is also banned from visiting his two young children in New Jersey, due to the fact that he will have to leave New York which violates the stipulations of his bail.
Troy Ave quickly took to twitter after his release.
