Twista is preparing to introduce new talent to the Hip-Hop world, with the signing of Harvey, Illinois rapper Showtime, who has inked a deal with the Chicago rapper’s GMG Entertainment imprint.

Showtime was signed on the strength of the release of his mixtape Rookie of Da Year.

He is currently in the studio putting the final touches on his untitled debut album, which is pegged for an April release date.

“Showtime has the ability to put songs together as good as any artist in the game,” Twista said of his new artist. “He has the look, age, voice, and entrepreneurial drive that It takes to win in today’s youth driven industry.”

Showtime, whose track “Homerun” garnered airplay around Chicago last year,  is grateful for the opportunity to work with a legendary artist like Twista.

“Right now it’s about making most of the chance I got. I’m from Harvey and in Harvey everybody shows everybody love,” Showtime said. “They push you cause’ they want to see somebody from there make it and that’s what I wanna do,” says Showtime. “I’m doing for others what they tried to do for me when I didn’t have nothing. I’m making everyone’s life better that made mine’s better. That’s what drives me.” (Via AHH)
