Los Angeles, CA – Apparently Tyga has decided to resurrect or take lyrics from 2Pac from not just one song, but several. I’m not sure this qualifies as a resurrection of lyrics from the immortal thug himself, but you be the judge.
For Tyga’s forthcoming album entitled ‘Hotel California,’ it seems as though Tyga has recorded an interesting track entitled ‘Hit “Em Up’ paying tribute to the late, great Tupac Shakur. Interestingly enough, instead of using one verse from the song itself, he decided to take several vocals from songs that include: “Komradz,” “Thug 4 Life,” and “Thugs Get Lonely Too.” The track is produced by DJ Mustard and features Jadakiss. According to Tyga, the track is not by any means a remake to the 1996 diss track, but rather a new version.
While on the set of his ‘Molly’ video filmed in Los Angeles, MTV News caught up with the Young Money signee and inquired about the song in question.
These were his comments:
“I sent it to Jadakiss, and after that I was done with the song, and then I had came across some ‘Pac vocals from a friend, I was like, ‘Man, this would be dope,’ but I didn’t really know how to use it properly.”
‘Hotel California’ is set to be released on April 9.
As always, keep posted to 24HourHipHop.com for updated news on Tyga’s forthcoming album and the video premiere.
