the shooting followed an argument that broke out early Wednesday morning (May 3) during a party for T.I. and Yung Joc at Cincinnati’s Club Ritz. T.I. and several associates left the club, but police say they were followed by two sport utility vehicles whose passengers fired multiple gunshots at the two vans carrying members of T.I.’s entourage as they drove toward downtown Cincinnati on I-75

The vehicles pursuing the two vans were gone when police arrived at the scene. A bodyguard and driver who were injured in one van were treated at University Hospital and released, as was a Minnesota woman who was traveling in the other van. Johnson was pronounced dead at the hospital. Cincinnati police say they have no new leads in the case.

Atlanta Records, T.I.’s home label, released a statement remembering Johnson on Wednesday

T.I. is currently making plans to reschedule an appearance previously set for Wednesday in St. Louis that had to be cancelled
