Usher to Discuss Divorce through Song

Atlanta, GA – Usher has never been one to suppress his thoughts or emotions when it came down to his music, as a matter of fact, much of his music, if not written by others, is sometimes inspired by certain events that occurred in his life. The first time we heard the R&B vocalist express a certain situation, it was on 2004’s smash hit ‘Confessions’ from the album with same name. This time around, in light of his recent divorce from Tameka Foster, he wrote a song with co-writer Sean Garrett that is currently labeled ‘Untitled’ is actually song about filing papers or about a relationship coming to an end.

The producer of the said track, Zaytoven, recently spoke to MTV News concerning the content and the originality of the track for Usher’s forthcoming studio LP ‘Monster.’

These were his comments:

“[Songwriter] Sean Garrett called me to the studio. He called like, ‘You’ve got to come hear this song. I’ve got a hit.’ This was awhile ago; this is before there were any reports about Usher’s marriage in the news. So I was thinking to myself, ‘Is he trying to say something?’ I don’t know what Usher is going through, but Sean Garrett made a song about filling out papers, divorce papers. The beat, it’s got a bounce to it. It’s outta here.”

Music Composer, songwriter, and producer, Sean Garrett, confirmed to MTV News, via phone from Atlanta, the authenticity of the track:

“It’s not particularly called ‘Filing Papers,’ let’s say I wrote a record for Usher three or four months ago where I really didn’t have any idea of what he was going through personally. I work really hard at creating records I feel that’s gonna fit like a glove to an artist. Me and Usher have a close relationship; I tend to sort of assist certain artists in giving them a direction, where I think they need to go in their next move. I felt that was the direction we needed to go. I felt that was the question everyone wanted to know: Was [his relationship] good or was it bad? Was it right? Are you happy or you’re not?”

Garrett insisted that when he wrote the song for Usher, he wasn’t aware of the troubles Usher and his wife were through at the time when he wrote the song a couple months ago. However, when MTV asked how he felt about the recent divorce between the two, this was his answer:

“I’m a heavy believer in God. I’m a Pisces. My intuition is crazy. I think that’s healthy in the process for me writing and producing for people. I can feel a person’s vibe without them even saying it. I can read a person’s body language. Maybe it was a sign. Maybe it was a sign of what my man was going through and he needed to get out. Maybe it was something she needed to hear as a wake-up call to her. I don’t know — their relationship is not my business. But once people hear this record, it’s gonna make their hair rise up.

Whether you’re a female in love, male in love, it’s a real record, your mama has to feel this record, your daddy has to feel this record, everybody has to feel this record. That’s what good writers do. That’s what ‘Yeah!’ [Usher’s 2004 hit, also co-written by Garrett] did. That’s what this record is gonna do. This is such an explosive record. I definitely feel it’s what Usher’s been wanting to say. But at the same time, it’s what a lot of people wanted to say, they just didn’t know what to say.”

Both Garrett and Usher have worked together before on Usher’s past album and has already worked on three different tracks on this new LP. The title has already been confirmed as ‘Monster,’ but the time frame and release date for the album have yet to be confirmed.

Rick Ross Announces Title of Next Album

Miami, FL – Record sales are still ranking in for the Boss’ acclaimed ‘Deeper Than Rap’ album that dropped earlier this year. Apparently, it seems as though Ross already has his sights set on the next projects. With three number 1 albums under his belt, Ross is already in the process to begin work on the fourth. We’ve all known him to a studio addict as recording music is more than just work; apparently it goes deeper than that.

Now from his past albums, we’ve seen the unique titles he’s been able to think of, the same goes for his next album as he has decided to now go with ‘Teflon Don,’ as officially announced.

Ross recently spoke with MTV News concerning the reason behind his untouchable title:

“You gotta understand, I feel like I overcame so many things, not only in music, but in my everyday life — being a young black man, being an entrepreneur, being a father. I learned a lot of things. I’m turning right around, putting it back into music. It’s still a lot of things I deal with. Still a lot of negativity. That’s what it is, and that’s why I feel the title of my next studio album is so appropriate.”

The Boss already has plans on moving forward with the release of Triple C’s long awaited debut album entitled ‘Custom Cars and Cycles’ before the release of his next solo effort. The infamous group has already recorded a video to the remix of Ross’ Yacht Club single and should be releasing sometime in July. His next official single from ‘Deeper than Rap’ has been that of ‘Maybach Music 2,’ according to Ross the video will be shot as soon as he can get all three heavyweights that appear on the song on the same schedule for a location shooting.
