Miami Gardens, FL – The Palmetto Expressway (826) was shut down in both directions at 27th Avenue Friday afternoon as police investigated what they classified as a possible bomb threat.

That area is also known as Carol City.

Florida Highway Patrol also shut down 27th Avenue in both directions, making a mess of the afternoon rush hour.

According to investigators, on Friday afternoon, Miami Gardens police officers found an unoccupied white Hearse at 169th Terrace and N.W. 27th Avenue, prompting the road closures.

Chopper4 flew over the scene where an unoccupied silver hearse parked under an overpass at 27th Avenue is believed to be the vehicle carrying a suspicious package.
The car is parked near a gas station, and some gas stations are roped off.
The bomb squad is assisting with the incident at NW 27th Avenue and NW 167th Street.
