Miami, FL – Like his partner in crime and CEO to the label that he is signed to, Drake follows down the same path as a hard working artist himself. Especially with a sophomore LP still in the works, the Canadian emcee still found time during his busy recording schedule to appear in his part on the DJ Khaled single ‘I’m on One’ and play his part during the Memorial Day Weekend events in Miami.

MTV News recently caught up with Drake during the shooting of the
‘I’m on One’ video in Miami and spoke about his upcoming project and the clubs he was visit during the Memorial Weekend events.

These were his comments:

“So this is my first Memorial weekend really particpating this heavily. I just want to get out there and touch the people, slap everybody’s hand, see the women; just let them know im out here. Let them see me, because they havent seen me in a while.”

Drake even added that he was using his experience within the clubs in Miami as “study research for Take Care:”

And I got this album coming, it’s called Take Care, so I just really want to get out here and check the climate. I wanna hear the records, see how everybody’s moving, see what everybody’s lovin’, because I know I got a great body of work, I’m ready to give it away, I’m using this weekend as study research. I’ll be getting as drunk as I can trying to fit in, doin’ it like that.”

After the video shoot that also featured Rick Ross and Lil Wayne on DJ Khaled’s ‘I’m on One,’ Drake and Wayne made their way to the infamous King of Diamonds where it was reported that Lil Wayne partied hard spending $250,000 in singles. According to their schedule, both Drake and Wayne should be in Vegas celebrating Memorial Day.

At press time, Drake’s upcoming sophomore LP ‘Take Care’ as of now, still holds a scheduled release date for September 13, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.
