The VMA’s are coming! It has been announced that Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Robin Thicke, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Kanye, and Bruno Mars will al be performing at the VMA’s this year as well as a few others.
This is Kanye West’s seventh VMA’s performance, ranking him among Madonna for the most VMA performances of all time. Kanye West might already hold the most memorable performances at the VMA awards, with the unforgettable interruption in 2009 of Taylor Swifts award for Best Female Video with him coming on stage saying Beyonce deserved it for “All The Single Ladies”. The year following Kanye performed his “Runaway”, singing let’s have a toast for the asshole’s and scumbags, almost showing pride for his ignorant acts the previous year. This year Kanye is performing “Black Skinhead” and we will see if he makes this performance as rememberable as his past performances.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will be performing “Same Love” and have been nominated to win an award for the best social message for their music video. Their other music videos for “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us” were also nominated for awards.
Drake‘s delayed release of his new album was almost a problem for him performing at the VMA’s, however Drake tweeted out that regardless he is planing on performing at the VMA’s. Drake’s tweet said,”Excited to announce I’ll be performing at the 2013 @MTV VMA’s!!! #Brooklyn #OVO #Started #NeedAKawsTrophy”
