The shocking move, which was announced Tuesday (January 24) by the networks’ parent companies CBS Corp. Warner Bros. Entertainment and Tribune Co., will unite shows from both networks such as UPN’s “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Girlfriends” and “America’s Top Model,” with WB shows like “Gilmore Girls” and “Smallville.”

Though the new network is set to begin broadcasting in September, it is still undecided when it comes to the line-up, when and where the aforementioned shows will air.

CW will reach about 95% of the country and will target the 18-34 demographic

UPN is a well known platform for urban programming and it is not known if urban shows like “Eve,” “Cuts,” and “One on One” will survive when the two stations intertwine.
