Wiz Khalifa has been in the news more recently as of late, but ironically not for anything negative, as a matter of fact it is all leading up to the release of his debut album ‘Rolling Papers.’ It’s apparent that the fans are beginning to become impatient as the days pass for any new material from Wiz.

The Pittsburgh Emcee’s album seems as though it’s sprung a leak as this time around a new mellow breezy track entitled ‘The Race’ has hit the net sometime over the weekend. That track has officially become his third single off of the upcoming album and it is definite that the lyrics are on point.

“I’m in the race and taking the winner’s place/No foot on the brakes/ One of the best homie, that’s what they call me/ It’s lonely at the top, ain’t no company/ So now I just stunt on my own, I just stunt on my own.”

Sometime last year, Wiz spoke to MTV News about this particular track and explained to the concept behind the song. These were his comments:

“Every song, they were like, ‘Man, this is going to the radio. You could go to the radio with that,’ so they are good songs, but they are also songs that are going to be accepted widely. I’ve got to stick to what I know, what I’ve been doing. My main producers have been doing the bulk of the album, and its majority done. We’re just doing the big songs now, putting some of the features together, but really, it’s more personal. You get to see me and feel me more as a person, but it’s still that same edgy, that same rawness that people dig.”

At press time, Wiz Khalifa’s debut album, ‘Rolling Papers,’ has been set for a March 29 release through Rostrum and Atlantic Records, making it his first release on a major label.
