This must be the year of the incarcerated rapper. Most recently Lil Boosie was sentenced to two years for a  third-time drug offense and and a first-time gun possession infraction.  Well two years obviously wasn’t enough time for the rapper because he had two years added after failing to uphold the conditions of his probation terms.
After his house arrest ankle monitor revealed that he had violated the terms of his probation on more than one occasion, the judge double his jail time. Boosie had this to say regarding the situation:

“I made some very foolish choices, but I was doing the best I could to provide for my family before I went away to jail,” Boosie wrote in a statement. “Clearly I exercised terrible judgment and I hope to get the opportunity to prove that I can make great decisions for my family and the community in the future.”

WAFB News reports:

“District Court Judge Chip Moore revoked Hatch’s probation, sending him straight to jail. Hatch was on house arrest with an ankle monitor. The monitor indicated that on more than one occasion, Hatch had violated the terms of his release. Judge Moore doubled Hatch’s original sentence and ordered him to spend four years in prison.”

To make matters worst, Boosie would’ve  most likely only done a year of his two year sentence.  The good thing is that after  two year supervised probation sentence he can have the gun charge erased from his record.

Lil Wayne has also seen the hand of justice handed down to him. He recently took a plea deal for the felony gun possession and drug charges.  According to the Associated Press:

“Lil Wayne has pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession, and expects to receive a one-year jail sentence. He previously had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession charges that carried at least 3 1/2 years in prison upon conviction. His trial had been due to start Jan. 20.”

Recently Lil Scrappy has spoken out about the arrests of both artists and the recent rise of artists being incarcerated.  He spoke with SOHH and had this to say:

“I don’t know how to react cuz, ’cause it’s like d*mn, if anybody noticed, this is the most rappers that done got locked up,” Scrappy explained. “I’ma tell you what it is though, it’s from certain n*ggas feeling like ‘I’m a rapper, I can do whatever the f*ck I wanna do,’ and not saying I’m a boss and do whatever I wanna do. If you a boss and you doing whatever you wanna do, you still gonna do it where you gonna be good, you not gonna just be ‘Oh, I f*cked up cuz, now I got eight years.’ Nah, not like that, they gonna be like ‘Eh, I did whatever I had to do, I’m good.’ N*ggas be going out their character, cuz. They doin’ sh*t they wouldn’t even do and they get f*cked up.”

It’s true, it just seems to me like every celebrity is getting arrested these days. It’s crazy. Hopefully these rappers will learn from their mistakes and stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, they most likely won’t.

50 Cent Speaks On Mobb Deep Released From G-Unit Records

50 Cent has finally decided to speak out on all the rumors regarding G-Unit Records. He finally revealed why Mobb Deep is no longer with G-Unit and also spoke about the status of both Young Buck and The Game.  Fiddy claims both Buck and Game are still under contract with him even though they are now considered “ex members.”
According to This Is 50:

“As far as the rest of the roster, of course the original G-Unit  as a group are gonna stay together,” Fif promised in an interview. “That’s myself, Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks and on the actual label, G-Unit Records as a roster, I let Prodigy and Havoc go off the label because P had to get extra money before he went into jail. And Havoc just had idle time while P was gone because he didn’t work as often as P does. M.O.P. was kinda just waiting for me to do it for them…Hot Rod and Spider Loc are still technically signed to G-Unit Records…Buck is still signed to G-Unit Records, hopefully he can come up with a record. If he can come up with a song, we can get my money back, you know what I’m saying? I hope he can come up with something right quick. I’m looking forward to that check at least. They gotta pay me not to put the [G-Unit] logo on it.”

Fiddy also addressed the rumors and the chances of possibly signing Beanie Sigel to G-Unit via MTV.

“I had a meeting with him today,” 50 said in . “First we gotta start with the music — where’s the music? Then we have to get into what it would take to bring him over to G-Unit as a record company . You can’t sign a deal in a conversation — it’s a process. We’ll see what happens. I would listen to what he has. His skills haven’t diminished. Nine times out of 10, he’ll have something workable already on deck. When you’re dealing with artists who have been established longer than you, it’s a process. You have to figure out exactly where they are at before you commit to being a part of those projects, because they have habits and they’ve been conditioned for something different. You have to figure out exactly what that is before you dive in.”

Well now everyone knows what the deal is with 50 Cent and G-Unit Records.  Poor Mobb Deep man. Didn’t they get G-Unit tats on them? Not a good look! I mean how you gonna explain that one? COMEDY!

Well alls well that ends well!
