A couple months ago it was reported by 305djs.com that Young Jeezy was arrested and charged with two counts of carrying a concealed firearm without a permit in March following a shootout in South Beach. The shooing begun when Marco Raez, a passerby, reportedly begun filming an altercation outside a South Beach night club which involved Jeezy and his entourage.
Raez was then spotted by Tramiel De Juan Golden, one of Jeezy’s associates, who approached Raez and demanded to give up his camera. When Raez refused, Raheem Karriem, another one of Jeezy’s associates, began shooting, forcing Raez to give up the camera. Jeezy and about nine other men then fled the scene in two sport utility vehicles but were eventually caught by authorities who found a semi-automatic firearm under Jeezy’s seat.
After being released on bail, Jeezy adamantly denied owning the guns and claimed he had fired no shots.
At a brief hearing held yesterday (May 16) in a Miami-Dade Circuit court, prosecutor Audrey Frank told Judge David Young that the state would not pursue the charges against Jeezy. Donald Bierman, Jeezy’s Miami attorney, said the rapper was "simply at the wrong place at the wrong time." No one was injured during the aforementioned shootout. "As we told everyone that day, no weapons in the car belonged to Young Jeezy," said Scott Leemon, Jeezy’s New York lawyer. "We are glad that he is able to put this behind him and refocus on what he does best — making hit records."
