Solange Knowles is preparing to perform tomorrow night at the Bowery Ballroom in New York.

Basically meaning, 6 Delancy Street will shortly become ground-zero for an assortment of hipsters, folksy types, vagabonds, and women who dress in various trends from the 90s.

The “Losing You” singer’s highly-buzzed about performance even has New York Magazine talking:

Having parted ways with Interscope Records four years ago after just one album, Solange Knowles went on to model, D.J., and create an Internet frenzy by attending a Grizzly Bear show in Williamsburg with her big sis and brother-in-law. She’s got herself a new collaborator, the indie auteur producer Dev Hynes, and the wait to hear her sing again ended last month with True (out on Terrible Records, started by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor). It’s a 28-minute gem, joyous even when melancholy, adding an experimental sensibility to Solange’s pop, and her live show may be a pretty good reminder not to take ourselves so seriously. — Vanita Salisbury
