Rick Ross "Mastermind" Release Party Ends With A Police Shootout

In celebration of Rick Ross' new album Mastermind, the Miami rapper made several appearances to different night clubs including Chamblee, Georgia's Velvet Room to celebrate, but according to Atlanta Journal Constitution,  Ross' Velvet Room visit came to an end.

 

An unnamed DJ, who was allegedly working at the club during the night of the shooting, was involved in a shooting between two off duty police officer outside the night club around 4 am yesterday (March 3). Police responded to shots fired behind the club and when they confronted the DJ he the began to fire at them.

Of course police returned fire and wounded the DJ in the leg. The DJ was later transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.

 

DeKalb Public Safety Director Cedric Alexander said, "for whatever unknown reasons, it appears that this DJ who was involved in the shooting with some others turned and shot at the officers, and that's when they returned fire." He went on to say "They were doing what they were trained to do…they took all the necessary action to protect themselves and each other."

 

It is currently unclear if Ross or any other celebrities were involved during the time of the shooting, which took place after club hours.
