Kimora Lee Simmons announced via Twitter late last week that she’s going to leave Phat Fashions, which includes the Baby Phat and Phat Farm labels Ny Magazine stated. Phat Fashions is owned by the Kellwood Corporation, which will end their partnership with Kimora on September 1.
“After 14 years of conceiving and nurturing Baby Phat, it’s time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses and create a new phenomenon. I adore all those who have faithfully been with me since the beginning. I’m forever dedicated to my family, fans and customers. My inspiration has always come from the fabulous women who have been with me through the years as we’ve grown from young party girls to power players! We’re ready for our next journey together and we’re taking a whole new generation of incredible young women with us. Girl power unite!”
Kimora will continue designing her other three fashion lines, including KLS, Kouture by Kimora, and Fabulosity, her JCPenney juniors’ line. She also still has her own reality show, fragrances, and probably lots of other things we’re forgetting or don’t even know about that will only aid her lifelong quest to become the Hello Kitty of America.
