Next week Tuesday is a big day for rapper J.Cole with the release of his second studio album, Born Sinner.
J.Cole thought of an excellent way to promote his album and give back to his dedicated fans by having Cole’s Dollar and a Dream Tour where the tickets were only $1. Yes! You heard right, $1. The 28-year-old rapper announced plans last week for a series of “secret shows.” Cole took to his Instagram to post the tour dates, as well as the information that no tickets will be sold for the shows. Fans can only gain entry to the concert on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Kicking off his first show last night in Miami, where fans stood in line for more than 12 hours in the 88 degree weather just to secure a spot. One dedicated fan by the name of Alexandria Polanco , emotionally stated “I would stand in the rain and wait for him. J.Cole music helped me after I attempted to commit suicide. His music saved my life, so I owe him more than 12 hours of waiting.” J.Cole didn’t expect Miami to show him so much love and neither did the Fire Marshall’s. There were so many fans trying to gain access inside the secret location (The Stage) that the Fire Marshall had too close the door due to the club meeting their capacity . J.Cole was beyond amazed with the HUGE outcome of what supposed to have been a “secret location” with only a few fans that he not only did one, but two full sets, so everyone could get a chance to party with the ROC Nation artist.

J. Cole hopped on stage and yelled into the crowd “I appreciate y’all for waiting in line all day, so I’m going to do the song that my real fans would know.” Starting the set off with songs from his first mixtape , The Come Up and Friday Night Lights, and which the fans repeated every line including the ad-lib verbatim as if they wrote the song themselves. He continued to yelled “You all have so much energy tonight. I had no choice but too do 2 shows. Miami, 305, y’all are in the building. You all show much love.” He continue to rock the stage with his past singles including , “Cole World”, “Rise and Grind” & “Nobody Perfect” which peeked at #3 on the Billboard Top 100 Charts.
Not only did fans get too enjoy a heart to heart special performance from J.Cole, they also got to meet his new artist by the name of Bas. An upcoming rapper from Queens, New York , that’s signed to Dreamville record label, who killed the stage after performing “Cousins” with Cole. I quickly got a interview with the humble and lyrically new artist before security hauled him off.
ElonKouture: How does it feel too be on tour?
Bas: This is my first tour with Cole and I’m very excited and happy. Touring for me don’t stop until January. Man Miami is showing major love though. I love it”
ElonKouture: What’s next for you and how can fans get to hear your music?
Bas: Next week, I’ll be dropping my single “Lit” featuring J.Cole. Fans can follow me on Instagram/Twitter @fiendbassy and they can hea my music on www.smfbas.com, where they can find my latest mixtape, Quarter Raised Me, Vol.. II.
J.Cole ended the night with his latest single “Power Trip” that had the crowd going bananas including myself. After completing 2 FULL sets, Cole was still very interactive with fans from signing autographs, taking pictures to giving the ladies hugs. I even got a chance to ask him a couple of questions before he boarded his tour bus to head to the next “secret location” in Atlanta, Ga.
ElonKouture: Why did you choose to do “secret” locations to help promote your album.
J.Cole: I wanted to connect and be close with my “real” fans.
ElonKouture: What artist right now in the game kind of give you a little influence on your music?
J.Cole: Nobody….(Shakes his head & laughed) Nobody!
