Lil Boosie (real name Torrence Hatch) was arrested in 2009 for violating his parole where he plead guilty to marijuana charges, then pleaded guilty again in 2011 for attempting to smuggle drugs into prison. After continuous speculation and many false dates given, it looks like Boosie, (his real name) Torrence Hatch, is finally set to be released on August 18, 2014. And this time it definitely is a go as the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections has posted the date as well. Pam Laborde, the agency’s communications director of NOLA.com also mentioned that Boosie will probably be under supervision until June 17, 2018. Though largely a regional underground rapper, Boosie has accumulated quite a following via social media since his incarceration. #FreeBoosie is often a trending topic on twitter and his facebook page has over three and a half million likes. Good things may be happening for Boosie in 2014 following his release, with rumors that Rick Ross is hinting at a possible deal with Maybach Music Group.

Good Kid Mad City at the Grammys

With seven Grammy nominations, GKMC, is an instant classic. Kendrick Lamar’s first album solidified the west coast lyricist as a star. Lacking any real “Cross over “ singles, (“Don’t Kill My Vibe” was the closest) the album portrays California life through the eyes of Kendrick and a few of his counterparts. A story from front to back, its look to be an important album in Hip Hop.

The Return Of “The Crew”

Last Year year during the BET Awards the strength of “Crew Love” was evident. With the likes of Supergroups like Slaughterhouse(Joell Ortiz,Royce da 5’9, Joe Budden & Crooked I) and Black Hippy(Ab-Soul,Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, and Jay Rock) kill the cyphers. Even the two-man group like, Run The Jewels(Killer Mike & El-P) and Audiopush are flexing the collaborative efforts. The team effort proves to be a successful one currently. Even the producers are getting in on it, recently Just Blaze, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League , IllMind , Cardiak, and AraabMUZIK have come together to collaborate together.

She’s currently grossing over $2 million per city, and on pace to have her top fiscal year ever, and if her new album helps sustain the addition of more shows and sell more tickets for her existing winter gigs, the financial impact could be far greater than that of Beyoncé’s record-setting iTunes sales.

“I’m not going to ever bring up Nike again. And the only way I’ll bring them up is in a positive light because I actually appreciate the opportunity to have been able to make my own shoe with them, and if I didn’t have the opportunity I wouldn’t have my deal I have with Adidas right now” “I’ll Never bring up the Grammy’s again in a negative light, cause I actually appreciate the 21 Grammy’s I did win, regardless of what categories they in, cause I’m not finna be the dude that has all the opportunity in the world and just focus on the negative and complains about it….”

On Dec. 23 in Toronto, Chicago rapper Kanye West let us know who has the answers. What most websites call a rant, I call a humbling portrayal of a human being .
He expressed his feelings and gave a response to how his year in the public’s has constantly portrayed him in a negative light. He even promised to a sold out Toronto crowd to not speak negatively about anyone or thing for, at least six months. He plans to focus all his energy into his music and other creative outlets, like his deal creating a shoe at Adidas. Kanye looks as if he is primed to have an interesting and important year.
