Lil Boosie’s mother Connie Hatch gave a detailed interview with OnWaxMagazine.com about her son and his incarceration in Angola State Prison. Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, is currently facing first-degree murder charges for allegedly hiring a 16-year-old named Michael Louding to shoot and kill a man named Terry Boyd, in October of 2009. Lil Boosie is also accused of attempting to smuggle codeine into two different prisons in Louisiana, further complicating his case, in which he could face the death penalty.
Because of these infractions and other violations, like making three-way calls, Lil Boosie is locked down 23-hours a day, from June until December. The rapper is not allowed to have any phone calls or contact with anyone, with the exception of his legal counsel. Lil Boosie’s mother also revealed that with the exception of Young Jeezy, no rappers have attempted to contact Lil Boosie since his incarceration.
“No. Not one. Not one rapper. The only person I have spoken with is Young Jeezy,” Ms Hatch told OnWaxMagazine.com. “I heard from him but he hasn’t done anything as of yet. But the rest of them, you hear from them, but when you call them, they know my number so they don’t respond. My child was not like that. He gave to everybody.”
Ms. Hatch also revealed that Lil Boosie’s Trill Entertainment label mates Webbie, Foxx and Lil Phat were among the rappers who have not seen Lil Boosie since his incarceration.
She said that the trio were even throwning parties under the auspices that the funds were going to Lil Boosie’s legal defense.
“We haven’t reaped any money from any Free Boosie Concerts,” Ms Hatch said. “Not any. Not even his children. They have people thinking that this concert is being sponsored to help Torrance. I contacted them about nine months ago and one of the guys told me it’s not true. But I found out because I received flyers from people in different states.”
